Is this sad or stupid?

I read a news article about a student who touched a live wire on top if a train track just to see what happens. He did it even though his friends warned him to stop. He ended up dying. Is this sad or stupid? I feel sad that a young life was lost, but am awestruck at the level of stupidity he showed. RIP, I hope his family can cope with this loss.
A college student died of electrocution on Saturday after he climbed atop a train in Coimbatore and touched the electric wire above it, police said.

@pitstop I guess I wonder why he did not listen to his friends and what he thought he was proving by doing it, Now, he will not be alive to live another day.

@pitstop Probably sad but they warned him. He just did not want to listen to them. It is still very sad.

@pitstop He should listened to his friends and he knew it is a live wire right? Don't risk especially if it has something to do with the electricity. May he rest in peace.

That really is stupid behaviour. I find it hard to believe a college student could be so dumb.

Must have been a spur of the moment decision.

People can be really stupid sometimes....curiosity kills the cat, I guess. There's mixed feelings for him.

@pitstop true...but stupid curiosity has led to big discoveries before...only it should be approached cautiously. This incident was just curiosity of no need, he probably knew what would happen and did it anyways.

This is outragous why do something like that to end your life? Then again I think to myself was the little boy going through a tough time. Is it peer pressure not have any friends or family around. Hard to tell now by these days how people feel and what they're going through I feel sad and then again it's stupidity.

It's stupid. If someone is so fool that he is not paying attention to such serious warnings of his friends, then, he has to pay for it. However, the family has to suffer for him.
