I Am Safe, Hope Others Too

We are safe; my family, my neighbors some of the friends and relatives I've communicated. I pray the others, whom I know and not know, are safe too. We are still lambasted by Ompong as of this writing. Heavy rains, strong winds, no electricity and big waves in the coastal. We feel the wrath at around 10pm, from soft to very strong. The peak, or most terrifying, is from 7am to 11am. With an area of around 1000 kilometer radius, even until now, heavy rains and gustiness still being felt. Almost all of my newsfeed in my facebook are the damage of the typhoon (fallen trees, damage house and estsblishments, floods, landslides), their situational and their prayers. We will have the darkest night tonight, literally and figuratively. But with prayers from us, i know, tomorrow the sun will shine us again.

I am glad you’ve survived the typhoon. I was pretty that you might not be able to post here but I am glad you still was able to get through somehow. We here in Manila are very safe the rain was strong but I guess not as strong as yours. There was power failure early in the morning but was restored back later. We even travelled and see minimal damage around the area.

@ilocosboy that is fine for now. I guess the next best thing is for you to recover from everything that has happened there and thank God that despite the havoc you’ve made it through safe and sound.

@ilocosboy I am so glad you are alive and that is very important. It is good that you have a place that does have electricity to charge your phone because you need it but a pain that you cannot charge it at your home.

It's good to hear that you and your family are safe. Material things can be replaced but you only have one family.

Yes that's true. Itsm just so frustrating seeing the planted rice in the stage of fruiting and now they cannot serve the much needed food because we cannot get any harvest from it.

@ilocosboy Yes, I know how it feels. But you can always plant rice, fix houses, buy things that were damaged.

No casualties in my province due to preemptive evacuation of the flooded areas and proactive planning of the government.

Rescue operstion still going. Its far from our province, maybe 6 hours drive. That place is really a mountainous area and prone to landslides. We are prone to floods and storm surge.

Glad you are safe. We had a hurricane/tropical storm here. The coast was hit badly. Here though it was just high winds and heavy rain. I didn't have any damage thank goodness. I stayed with my uncle. A tree in my uncle's yard came down after the storm.

I am happy to hear that you and your family are safe, Skrillex. Hope everything will be back to normal soon. Just keep praying. As for me, we all have experienced a nonstop rain accompanied by some howling winds last night. It was pretty scary. Plus, the electricity supply went off for a couple of hours, and it was just restored this morning, around nine in the morning.
