My Dude

I have two cats rescued from death row as I call it. The first one I will talk about is my first black cat I have ever owned, called the Dude. He is like a teddy bear. Such a sweet personality. Loves to be in my lap or laying close to wherever I am. He had been at the pound for months and was about to lose his life when I rescued him. Both cats I have were declawed. I would never do that but since it had been done, I knew that made the chances for adoption even less. So they are both indoors all the time. In the photo you can see I brought some leaves in the screen room for them to feel and smell the outside. I love animals and wish I could give them all a good home. They are also good for therapy, they are almost always relaxed and remind us to do the same. So for now the Dude says hello to everyone.

He's a very fine cat (and Mephistopheles/Misty says so, too, though he still believes he's the finest black cat of all time ... never mind that he has a misty patch of white under his chin!). He did take a look at your picture and decided that it wasn't him in a mirror after all but just another of those computer pictures.

The Dude is adorable! I once had a black cat, 'Spooky', he was very tiny when we got him. J.J. has a cat that looks exactly the same! He's a member here on My Lot.

Love the picture of the Dude. Thank you so much for rescuing them. I wish people would adopt more rescue animals than buy animals. My cat is also a rescue animal. I did not find her. She was left to die at 2 days old and a family found her and then the lady after 3 months gave her away saying she was allergic. She could have been allergic but I know there was more to it. My cat since she did not learn manners likes to bite and grab. I am sure if she told me that I would think about adopting her. It was very hard when I first discovered it. Now, I watch her more and try to catch her when she is going to do it but sometimes she sneaks attacks me. She is better now but still does do it. I really like her so like when she is sweet and adorable.

He's a beautiful cat. Glad you rescued him. I got my cat from Wal-Mart parking lot, somebody just put her out of their car at the service station. I said you are so pretty, the cashier told me someone put her out. She has been with since.

He's handsome. Lily is my black cat. For many years I had said if I ever owned another cat, I would have it declawed. After owning Lily, I changed my mind. She's a indoor/outdoor cat.

You are awesome! Not many people rescue animals anymore.
Poor kitties, no claws.

Well, Dude is adorable. My Sid was also adopted and he sends his sincerest meows to Dude. My poor baby was abused during his first four years of life and then thrown out into the street. Finally, we adopted him and when I now moved back to the states I, of course, took him with me.

He is a pretty cat. He reminds me of the black cat I had for many years. I think the kids called it Fluffy. Someone offered it to me as a tiny kitten and said if I could not take it, she would give it to the pound. I'm glad I took it. It was all black.
