Yes, I do read books. Now lets say, starting at the beginning mind you. Depend if there is only a few chapters that interest me, than it makes me do the skipping parts to get to the point . But than that means I probably mist something that, was, very important about the story or information that the book had for me to begin with.
Now I don't know about you but do you have tendency to do that kind of thing. For me if I go only to the pages I feel like to read, this is mostly likely happening when I am more tired than other time. It can become a habit too.
Anyway, lets take the time than to read well, from the beginning till the end. But if the book is boring, like some of them are. This means that you picked the wrong book for you.

There was only one book I where I skipped ahead to get to the more interesting parts. Up until that point in my life, I finished every book I read whether it was bad or not. I had certainly read some stinkers but that one was so bad and so bland it ended up being the first one I had ever given up on. After 600 pages I couldn't take it anymore.

@beenice2 Part of the reason I forced myself through it for so long was because I had to do a book report on a book I selected. In the end I just picked a book I read a few years prior. At the time I didn't think my English teacher would have accepted a paper about why I had chosen not to finish my book. Thinking back though, he probably would have been amused by an angry rant.

If the book doesn't hold my attention right from the start I don't finish it. I like books that hold my attention from page one right to the last page.

@beenice2 yes I've read books like that too so i guess I should have said after giving it a bit of time to get into the story if it doesn't hold my interest then I'll stop reading.

I rarely skip pages in a book. If the book doesn't interest me, I find another book.

Once, a friend told me that she reads first the last or last two pages to see how the history ends before starting to read the whole book. The reason to do so is, that she doesn't like sad finals. So, she decides to read a book depending on how it ends.

I am reading one now..that although I enjoy the book..I don't think I will finish it. I can't seem to read more than a chapter or two at a time and I have already renewed it twice. I think I will have to skip to the end..although I think I have an idea what will happen already...The groundwork seems to be laid.

I'm really not fond of books. I tried to read but halfway through it my mind starts to wander then I had to start all over again. But still can't finish a decent book.
