Twenty years ago we bought our first Mercedes Benz and financed it. Since then, we’ve had many more cars.
Yesterday, we received a notification from Mercedes Benz corporate headquarters that we were owed money from them. From THEM! Apparently, we must have paid them twice in one month twenty years ago.
It certainly took them a long time to realize this, but the hefty check is in the mail! Woot Woot!
And to top it all off, I received a $1000 Saks Fifth Avenue gift card when we first bought the car.

Wow, that is great! I'm surprised that after 20 years they would still even have information on your account.

That is twice a lot of money! Never in my life did I have the money to buy a Mercedes. And now I would think it twice before buying a bicycle. Not that I would be able to use it after all these years. I don´t trust the saying

@DianneN I am trying to start walking reasonably well again. Bikes are in the far future. If.

@DianneN - Wow! It is amazing that they just discovered the mistake! We bought our first Mercedes in the 1970s and my husband still drives one, today. I drove one for over a decade when I sold real estate. Over the years, I think we have owned five. I don't think we ever made a double payment, but now I will be on the alert, just in case we hear from them, too! LOL

@DeborahDiane I agree. We used to trade them in every few years, but are now planning on keeping our sports car forever. We seem to love the Lexus sedans now. They have the smoothest ride of them all.

It did feel good, but our son just texted me a photo of the porch and patio furniture he and his bride love. I told him to buy it and charge it to us, so that newfound money is long gone. We are helping him furnish his new home - our gift.

I think they should be commented as they could have simply ignored it.

@DianneN Yes, that would have made you day even better!
If it was the other way around they probably would have charged or tried to charge you interest.

Awesome. Sounds like you're gonna be shopping for goodies again
OH, it reminded me of this song:
This video brings back old memories
I prefer to associate this with the song than Donald Trump :). Anyway, love watching Pat and Tyron dance together, two of my favorites.

They took their sweet time notifying you of the amount owed to you so they could keep the money in their bank account and earn lots of interest over the years! haha

Wow. The fact that they found it and actually wanted to give it back is impressive. Here's one point in favor of Mercedes-Benz. As for luxury cars, I am more of a Lincoln guy—but they still don't really have a model I totally like, so I drive an F-150. I am a truck guy anyway. Wonder if Ford owes me some money. Hmmm.

They could have included the interest, too. We were shocked that they were that honest. Although we have a Mercedes in the garage, we also have a new Lexus sedan and one in Florida. My husband swears the ride is smoother than any other luxury car - ever. When you say trucks, are you talking SUVs or pickup trucks?
