What do you add to your coffee?

When I was a teenager, I was amazed when a family friend asked me to make a cup of coffee for him. And he told me to make it black, as in black, like three spoons of coffee without sugar, creamer or milk. And the cup was small. My goodness, I couldn’t imagine the taste. The bitter taste is the reason why I avoid brewed coffee. When I go to a coffee shop, they prepare brewed coffee, i will definitely add, three spoons of sugar and creamer. What about you? What do you add to your coffee?

I learned to enjoy black coffee 6 years ago. It took me 3 days to lessen the milk and sweetener.

I also drink my coffee, black, no sugar. At first, I don't like it. But as time goes by, I got used to it already and I drink it during breakfast. Though, sometimes when I am at the office,I drink those in instant 3 in 1 in sachets, I find them already two sweet.

@Janet357 Not much anymore. But I do eat cakes if they are of marble icing or butter icing.

Because you are not used to sugar anymore, so that means, you are not fond of sweet stuff anymore?

@Janet357 It is called "evaporated milk" here, and yes, it adds a creamy taste to the coffee, much nicer than using powdered coffee creamer.

@nela13 yes. Because the woman was slowly brewing the coffee, and then after that, she poured some into a small cup and asked the host if it was sweet. I wanted to laugh.

When I’m doing night shift and really having a sleepy night, I drink black coffee with tea. It’s the most disgusting thing ever! On normal occasions I prefer my coffee white with one sugar or none.

@Janet357 It’s very bitter. If I didn’t want to stay awake I wouldn’t take it. It’s my desperate waking concoction.

Usually, I take it black--unless there's flavored creamer handy, then I'll add that.

There was only one day in my life when I willingly drank coffee. I needed to sober up quick. I had half a cup of coffee, maybe a quarter cup's worth of sugar, and half as much cream as there was coffee.

Here in my country Greece, I drink hot Nescafe, with little sugar and milk, it's so delecious that I cannot stand waiting to drink it in the morning. I don't prepare it myself; I order it, twice a day from the Cafe of my neighborhood, and they bring it to me home. Cost Eur 1.50, actually cheap enough, for its quality.
