Higher Education

Been thinking and learning about different education systems around the world. Some European countries have a free higher education system where they pay higher taxes but they get to go to universities for free. Why shouldn't we have this kind of system? I seems like a fair trade-off considering how much we pay for college and how long we stay in debt.

In the UK students in higher education can have a loan to cover fees and living costs which they repay (with interest) when their later income reaches a certain point. If this point is never reached, the loan is never repaid.

@januar1986 Overseas students are usually sponsored by their own governments, but are otherwise very welcome to study in the UK. I currently work at a university (De Montfort, Leicester) that has many students from all over the world.
