The Mystery of the Shirt Stripe. By Sir Arthur Conan Horse

I noticed recently that some of my t-shirts, after I wear them, have a diagonal stripe across the chest when I put them in the laundry. For several weeks, I wondered what caused said stripes. Finally, I sat in my reading chair in the corner, took a small sniff of cocaine, lit my pipe, and thought about everything I'd been doing over the past few weeks, and when the stripes were especially dark. The solution came to me like a lightning bolt. My friend, Dr. Watson, who was reading in another chair across the room, later told me he saw the twinkle in my eye and even the slightest trace of a smile at the very moment that my epiphany occurred. Can you solve the mystery of the shirt stripe?

I carry a day pack only when I teach (college). It is slung over my right shoulder. The lines didn't match up. But you're on the right track.

This guy could give us a clue... Or could it be the track of a safety device, I wonder?

You drape it over the line at the point where the mark is - no, that's not right 'cause the stripes diagonal. I give up.

@TheHorse Did you keep it right side up and not turn it inside out when you washed it and that is why that happened|?

When I soak or wash it, the stripe goes away.

That entered my mind as well. But most of the pressure from my guitar strap is on my back.

You bring something on your back that has black straps and the straps stain your t-shirts.

@TheHorse I was sure that was something like this, because it happened that my seat belt stained one of my white dresses after we left the car at the garage for revision. I cleaned the seat belt and it never happened again.

The clues are all there! The stripe, it's position, the way it looks, the fact that it's present before putting them in the laundry. And of course, reading your comment about driving a lot . So, the solution is simple: you drive a lot and this makes you happy, that's why you put your right hand across your chest to calm your heart beating. Hence the stripe. Or it could be the seat belt... No, I'll go for the hand solution!

@TheHorse apparently there still are two brain cells somewhere... One of them is getting a sun tan, the other one is protesting against harsh work conditions .
