This is a good one and not sure how to answer this. What's is the story behind my name? I do not have one or think I do not. Never had the chance to ask my parents what the story behind our name. My mother and dad are immigrants from Italy, There was nine of us.How did they come across our names. Was there a story behind this?if so missed it Will be leaving soon to see finally "A Star is Born"after hearing so man good review on both of the actors. Cheryl saw this last night. It was awesome.

Isn't Rossi Italian for red? Presumably an ancestor of yours had red hair and the nickname stuck!

@indexer we do not have any red hair in our family.Maybe some day will do the DNA test?

@amadeo Surnames go back many centuries - possibly a thousand years. It would not be surprising if the red hair gene has disappeared by now!

In Italy there was the habit to give to sons the names of their ancestors. My brother's name is Alfredo (like you), because one of the brother of my paternal grandmother was called Alfredo. Nothing behind my name, my father liked the short name Anna and he decided to call me Anna. I loved my father, so I love my name.

@amadeo I like it, it's short, it's simple, it's the most common name for a woman in Italy.

My mother wanted to name me Laurie Anne, but she lost that one. I was given my name by my father, and it was approved by his parents. A trip out to the family plot at the cemetery shows that Julia Anne has long been used for a girl's name in our family. My middle name is after my mother's mother.

@amadeo Oh no, not bad at all. But its just funny that my mother picked that name and yet she was the one who always told me that I was a mistake (real confidence builder wasn't she) and my dad, who she told me, wanted another son to help on the farm, got to choose my name. I'm a Daddy's girl as you can tell.

My first name comes from a lady who was like a grandma to us kids. Her Father liked Edgar Allen Poe. In those days the men went to taverns and read literary works aloud. So.... he named his daughter Lenore and much later when I came along, I got it, too.

my name is not usually how it is spelled now according to my mother, it should be Nerzy, breaking the name Mercy, since the name of my father starts with N so we are all N.

Well, my first name is David, which is Biblical. But I was named after my dad. I have no idea why he was named that. As far as Scott goes, I got nothing.

idk my mom liked the name Brenna. it was gonna be Brenna or Shannon or Caroline, I'm glad she went with the weirder one, it's more fun :) all i know is it means "raven haired maiden" which i always thought was cool. and it seems to be a rarer name, i've only met two other Brennas in my life. I hope you enjoy the movie, it looks good!
