anyone know the difference?

I haven't been posting because I of course am having worse health and therefore worse financial problems trying to cover it all. I was told by my doctors teams financial office that if I was on just medicare and no secondary insurance, it might be cheaper on me. Wondering if anyone here in USA knows if that is true? So here I am getting worse with not enough help physically and feeling even worse worrying over all the bills and finances. Last month, I started trying to figure a way to move back to Ohio again and stupidly thought and was told by my oldest daughter there she was helping me with that. Come to find out she was actually trying to look in to different facilities or places I could move into here in Florida. when I confronted her about that on the phone, she started telling me why she did not want me living close to her. Seems my ex, her dad and her grandmother, my mom has filled her head with lies about me so no help there. Anyway, that is why I haven't posted for a while. too much sad news from me. Just trying to fight depression here. and trying to figure what's best to do about health insurance. I have been here off and on to find some interesting posts and commented on those. now to get back to that

@nela13 no not our country. we have free only for the homeless and those that can not work. if we work we pay into that and in taxes also. when we retire we get how ever much we have been paying into it, supposedly. but it is an unfair system i think. long story on this

@bunnybon7 don't you have a national health system for free? It is weird that you need To have a health insurance. What about those that can't pay tinha?

@bunnybon7 Sorry, I see my typo, I wrote sister. You did your best for her, she is blaming you because she had other people telling her things that are not true. If she only listened at you.

Medicare can be very confusing. We had a wonderful insurance lady that helped us through it when my husband got old enough to retire and sign up. Hope you can get it figured out soon.

@bunnybon7 She signed him up on Humana. My parents had that too. It seems to be good insurance and at least right now cheap.

So sorry to hear all this. What a shame, i hope your ex and mom dont sleep well with all the bs they've told her. Though also a shame she just assumed it was all true instead of talking to you. Wish there was something i could do. Both about your health and your living situation.

aaww! you always have my back sweetie. nice knowing that. as for mom, she is gone now. it's just that for years she talked down about me to everyone. not sure why. none of my aunts understood why either. and my ex did it out of typical revenge. he was that kind of parent that takes things to involve the kids in the break up. i never did that because i don't believe in it. thats their dad you know. but he was and is a petty man and abusive. she just chose to believe her dad i guess. She doesn't even give me a listen about it.

@Courtlynn i think family should care about each other. wish my oldest daughter was like you. you are so good to your mom. my youngest daughter tries but it is hard for her to work long hours, sleep some, and be able to do a lot for me also.

Hi Bonnie. I am sorry to hear this. Please try not to worry about this financial. Honestly, it will be there when you and I are long gone. My Mother had only Medicare no secondary insurance. Yes I too have heard that it is better to have just the Medicare with no secondary..that was the case with my Mother RIP. I know that Medicare covers a lot. It covered most all of what she needed. RIP She did not qualify for the state aid of Medicaid as her SS was over the amount. I hope you will be able to get help with this and most importantly get well. I am really sorry to hear about that other daughter there in Ohio. Really sorry.

i think i am figuring it out now with help from here. it probably would be cheaper for me because already my secondary insurance is saying for an aide to help in my home i would have to pay myself. they are not doing that any more for me. thank you for your kind wishes. so sorry for your loss dear. praying your grief gets easier soon.

@bunnybon7 It changes us the grief Bonnie thank you so much. I sure wish you could have someone there to help you. Medicare does cover home aids in certain cases. Here is what the site says: Home health aide: Medicare pays in full for an aide if you require skilled care (skilled nursing or therapy services). ... Medicare will not pay for an aide if you only require personal care and do not need skilled care. My Mom had one at the very end of her life. Medicare paid.

Medicare guidelines state you have to have a part b supplement insurance policy or you will get penalized. They have 800 numbers on their website you could call and talk to them. So sorry about the family issues. I think we all have them on some level. Please try to keep your chin up. Take one thing at a time. One step at a time.

thank you. i didn't know that. so i guess there is no way for me to save after all. they get you both ways. this secondary insurance must be for help "supposedly " with medications.
