Review: Dr. Pepper Cotton Candy

As I was at my local $1 store - I saw this package of Dr. Pepper flavored cotton candy, and I thought why not?
I'm a big fan of the unique sweet and spicy flavor of Dr. Pepper, and experiencing it in fluffy cotton candy seemed appealing, even though, technically, I'm not a big fan of cotton candy.
Well the first things I noticed were the gorgeous burgundy color and the thick, dense texture of the usually more - fluffy treat.
The Dr. Pepper flavor was evident , though way more "sweet" than the soda. I guess that isn't surprising given that this is a treat also known as "spun sugar".
A few bites at a time and I did manage to pack another 300 calories onto my day - the calorie count of what was in the package.
While it didn't stop me from finishing it, I don't know if I would buy this again. Now the Dr. Pepper flavored Lip Smacker (lip gloss/chapstick type thing) is another matter

Have you tried anything strange lately?

not really, although I did buy some potato croquettes at Lidl which come in a distinct curly cue shape. I would try Dr. Pepper cotton candy.

Ooo Potato croquettes sounds interesting doesn't it? What is the flavor like? Is it a potato dumping?

Have I ever tried anything strange? No. Of course not. And whatever you've heard is a lie. And all the videos and pictures you've seen of me doing strange things are PhotoShopped! Oh wait...you mean food?
I'm not a big fan of cotton candy but I love Dr. Pepper. I know I'm forgetting a ton of things but the only odd food item I can think of right now is a vegetarian spinach pizza with just cheese, no red sauce that we used to order. My ex-wife loved them because they had far less calories than any other pizza and I tried it, expecting it to be horrible but I found it was very good. Just as good as any other pizza.

@FayeHazel I really like the idea of you watching. That's why the computer spying doesn't bother me but I like it much better when it's you.
This place really did it well. I don't know how but they made the spinach taste really good.

Lol,but you forget I might be watching....
I know, I like the texture but cotton candy has always been too ultra sweet for my tastes. Love Dr. Pepper too. It's such a unique flavor, I've often wondered what's in there. Then again knowing might take away the magic.
The spinach pizza I could image being alright. I know that a few leaves of Spinach on pizza really doesn't have much flavor. The no red sauce would throw me off, but stranger things have happened.

@xander6464 But what if I invite friends over? We all like watching you. Make some popcorn, settle for some Mountain dew (not Mellow Yellow - because I didn't win the lotto so couldn't buy the big Coke Machine....)
Wow, making Spinach taste good is a real feat....

Ha ha, seriously? Is it the texture or just the overly sweet?

Being that I am a huge Dr. Pepper fan, I would probably buy this at least once to try it, even if you would have said it was horrible!

@FayeHazel The Dr Pepper licorice was okay enough but sort of odd tasting.

Funny I used to love it (cotton candy) when I was a kid. I guess it's one of those things that looses it's magic when you become an adult

@porwest Ditto here, not my favorite. Kind of like Lik-m-aid - candy sticks that you could dip into flavor powder. Loved it as a kid. As an adult, I have no idea why that seemed fun

@FayeHazel Even for $1.
I DID like it when I was a kid. But the last time I had a bite I could not understand at all what I ever saw in it.

Aw, too bad! Maybe sometime it will find it's way there. Spearmint Chapstick? We don't see that too often here. Cherry and the non-descript "original" are common

The lip smacker is good but I have never seen Dr pepper in cotton candy before. I love dp but I don't think I would be a fan of the candy.
