I taught my psychology class last night. It went well. We talked about Anxiety. My students in this class are mostly "older" (above 20), and were incredibly honest about their experiences with anxiety. I taught about anxiety disorders (Generalized Anxiety Disorder, PTSD, etc.) and also the physiology of anxiety (fight or flight response, etc.).
Today, I have NOTHING that I have to do. I have only three papers and three group in-class assignments to grade. I have a week to get those things done. Tomorrow, I work at a friend's preschool. Today I do not. I have only (rock 'n roll) band practice tonight at 7:30.
What will I do today? I think I'll head to my friend Michael's house and play music with him. We've been working on some "piano jazz," with me playing piano and bass, and him singing and playing guitar. Then we'll take a hike around a reservoir near his house.
How do you spend "days off"? Do you enjoy it when you have nothing you HAVE to do? Or does too much time on your hands make you "anxious"?

When I have nothing that needs to be done, I may just relax and enjoy the day or I try to get ahead on something that will need to be done soon. I lie the feeling of being ahead!

Some days are too busy even though I am retired. Others are a little too slow. Gotta practice more!

Yes, I feel anxious if I am not "doing" something. This is a beautiful scene. I have chicken soup cooking and chicken cat food in the freezer and bones browning to become bone broth. It is time to think of lunch.

"Idle hands are the devil's workshop"
I just read a book if I have nothing else to do. Sometimes even if I DO have something to do.

Music is what I do every day, so I try not to do it on my days off. I have recently been taking some geology classes which are fun for me, and no pressure because nobody cares about a music teacher passing or failing a geology course. I just like to learn new things.

I knew you would decide to do music today. I am retired so every day is a day off for me. Hehe

Well, I too was off today, and I spent the day cleaning. Next, I have to take my son to get a haircut and buy him some pajama's, some pillows, and something for their school lunch for the rest of the week.
