Facebook off

I am getting so tired of Facebook that I decided that I won't go there for some time. It's time to stop and turn it off. Of making a social media detox.
I am tired of silly posts, daily selfies 
, repetitive comments and people that post 100 things everyday. Besides I only go there for a around 30 minutes I feel that I am wasting my precious time there.
I need time to do other things like to finish the book that has been in the drawer for so long, to stay with my kids, to help my parents, to take some plans off the paper, to exercise, to take care of me .... 
I feel like I don't need Facebook in my life right now and it will be in stand by mode for some weeks.
Do you have a facebook account? Do you use it regularly?

I mostly agree with @CarolDM about facebook. But I'm also not mostly into social media like @Icydoll. I'm almost never into "what's trending"... I believe it's best to be a leader than a "follower". I opened an account in the past to keep in contact with people in my life near and far as facebook's intention. Lately, it's become something else.

@nela13 I agree. People feel the need to say anything there. I use it mostly for business myself. I'm only there every now and then for personal needs if I'm not able to keep in contact with others.

I go there once or twice a month these days and stay there only a few minutes. I see no value in spending time there anymore. I spend most of my spare time here. .

Yes, I have a Facebook account and I visit it everyday, but I don't stay on it too long.

Good Idea to get away from social media for a minute!!! It will consume your whole day everyday!!! U will not do anything else and it will get on your nerves if on it too long!!! I try to use facebook for business purposes!!!

i know the feeling. have stayed away as much as possible before. better to be here where people actually discuss things and answer questions. there they don't really interact most times

@nela13 true for most. my grand daughter does that a lot. rather egotistical. and my oldest daughter in Ohio when she can get a photo above her tummy. lol. or of her house she likes to show off

I have a Facebook account for my personal life, which I hardly every use, and 12 Facebook accounts for work that I manage. I do spend quite a bit of time on Facebook managing my work pages, so in that respect I am on Facebook a lot. But otherwise, I try to avoid Facebook as much as I can.

@nela13 Yes, it's a lot to manage, but they are fun pages, and I enjoy posting and commenting on those Facebook sites. Every now and then I'll post on my own personal page, but not too often these days.

I don't spend much time on Facebook either. My free time when I want to socialize is on here at mylot. People can be really nasty on Facebook too. For the most part I feel mylot is free of all the drama and name calling that people post on Facebook.

I only open my fb for 15-20 minutes. I too get too tired looking at those selfies and posts of quotes. Although, I love it when they post funny videos. It is what me and hubby likes to watch specially at night while in bed trying to get sleepy already.
