Something new!

I may be wrong, but I think Something New was the name of a Beatles' album in the 1960s. I was a child then, and the name sticks in my head. Anyway, today, my music buddy Michael and I went cycling from Antioch toward the Black Diamond Mines, where I take my "troubled" kids hiking. We wound up in a ghost town I hadn't heard of, right over the hill from my familiar turf. We must have cycled 5 miles or so, each way. In this region (of California), coal was mined in the late 1800s. But the grade of coal was not good enough, so they started mining silica, for glass bottles, which were made in Oakland CA. This was long before Oakland became a "dangerous" town. I'll attach a picture of me leaning against a "blue live oak tree." They yield really large acorns and apparently only exist near the Delta in the Bay Area of California.

I was a fan of the Beatles and I have all their Albums. "Something New" was their fifth Album released in 1964, not my favorite. Hard work the one of coal miners, I have visited a coal mine in Virginia City (Nevada), scary place.

@TheHorse The dark, the noises of the wooden beams, the water stagnant on the floor, the increase of the temperature as we went down deep inside the earth. I suffer of claustrophobia, I should had not come inside.

Why is Oakland a dangerous town? We have an oak tree down in the paddock.

This is one of the worst pictures from you. Shadow hides most of your face, face is too distant...sigh. I reject this. This will never be used in any of your songs, unless you come up with something about ghosts.

@vandana7 The city closest to where I live, Derry (or Doire in Irish): Doire means "oak grove".

One of my favorite memories as a kid is the big oak tree in our back yard and all the wonderful acorns under it.
