In my country which is a Christian country we celebrate the birth of Christ. We decorate our homes, we play Christmas carols, we exchange gifts, Family get together and share, eat and celebrate. We give to the less fortunate and we treat them.

Here in the Philippines, the radios will start airing Christmas songs Sept. 1. They will also a countdown each day passes , how many days will it be already until December 25, Christmas day. Companies , schools, hospitals and everyone will also start having their Christmas parties as early as first week of December. So, December is filled with events. Everywhere, where the people are Christians have have Christmas decorations. On the eve of Christmas Dec. 24, families have their noche buena in their houses. Some would go to midnight mass. As for me and my family, we go ro church on Dec. 25, in the mid morning , then we our lunch in a restaurant. We also have exchange gifts, caroling and gift giving. Christmas is the happiest month of the year for us.

I am not a Christian. Our country is a mixture of many religions. But in Christmas I am hanging the star in front door and eating cakes with my family members.

I am from the Philippines and Christmas is the longest celebration in a year starting on the onset of the ber months. You will already see spirit of Christmas through songs and Christmas decorations. But what excites most people is the outburst of merriment, exchanging gifts and doing Manito, Manita or Kris Kringle especially in work or school organizations and the like. This is a season of giving and sharing which culminates on the eve on the midnight of DEC. 24 when most Catholics would attend mass. On December 25, children would go to their godparents to get their presents. What I long for when the season begins is the puto bumbong ( it's like a cake made of yam and coconut).

In my family, we just have a simple celebration. Being together is enough to celebrate Christmas.

I decorate my house. I go to my great-aunt's house on Christmas Eve. I do open presents on Christmas Eve. Although my mother tries to get me to wait to open one present on Christmas. My fiance's birthday is on Christmas Day. So he opens presents on his birthday.
