I'm in a cooking frenzy!

I love to cook, but with just the two of us at home, we sometimes eat out. There's a local cafe BBQ place just down the road that has the best specials all week.
Each day is different. Monday is Brunswick stew, Tuesday is hamburger steak and gracy, Wednesday is Ribs, Thursday is Chicken and pastry, and Friday is barbecued chicken. They come with two sides, hushpuppies, and a drink.
We usually pick up plates from there at least a couple of times a week.
But this week, for some unknown reason, I've been cooking and cooking, frying and baking, stewing and boiling!
One day I fixed a beef pot roast with mashed potatoes, gravy, and green beans. Another day I cooked a pot of black eyed peas with fried pork sausage, mac and cheese, biscuits, and sweet tea. I also made some pimento cheese for sandwiches tomorrow.
Oh yeah, I made a pot of veggie soup with venison one day. I'm trying to make myself not bake any desserts, but it's hard.
I don't know if it's this cooler fall weather or what. We haven't eaten at the BBQ place once this week! They'll wonder what happened to us.
I need to start baking sweets to put in the freezer for Christmas soon.
Have you cooked something special this week? I love hearing about dishes from our myLot friends around the world.
The photo is one of our grandsons several years ago.

As you know I don`t care much for eating out, I do cook daily at home. The food you cooked sounded 100% better than what the BBQ hut was offering.

Yeah, home cooked usually is better and healthier. The food at the bbq place is good, down home cooking, though. It takes me most of the day to cook chicken and pastry, and theirs is almost as good as mine.

I am not cooking much this week. Just a breakfast casserole. I cooked a lot last week. I know what you mean, I cooked a lot last week.

I wonder why we have spells like that? Do you have a good recipe for a breakfast casserole?

@1creekgirl I also made lasagna (from scratch, including the noodles), I made meat ravioli, ricotta and spinach ravioli, a cheesecake and English muffins for breakfast.

What all did you end up cooking? I made a spaghetti casserole for dinner today...sort of between spaghetti and lasagna.

Possibly! He does like to cook sometimes. I've taught him over the years and he cooks for his dad and himself some nights.

We had a Vietnamese sandwich in New York City called Bahn mi, I think, made from pork belly and it was really good.

Yeah, I hate to decide on what I want to cook and then have to go to the grocery store first. We live about 10 miles from the nearest grocery store.

I rarely go out, so I do all my own cooking. Cooking for one can be challenging, but the best part, I don't need to worry that it won't get eaten because someone doesn't like what I'm making.
Today, I'm going to make a beef casserole of sorts. I'm going to cook up the ground beef, put onions and mushrooms in it, make a white sauce for it, and put it together with spaghetti squash, which I baked two days ago, and put it in the oven to bake for about half an hour. I've never made this before, but I'm looking forward to this. It's my own recipe. I will also add spices so it has some flavor.

What is it about sweet tea? I love sweet tea! But, my favorite is half n half...half lemonade/half iced tea.

Our treats lately have been at the small BBQ place just down the road (we're in the country) that has the best down home cooking and a plate special four days a week. Hope I don't forget how to cook! We actually only eat there once or twice a week...the prices are so reasonable, I couldn't even cook for the two of us at those prices. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.
