I have always believed that public school teachers should be paid alot more! It's a tough but very vital job.
Congressional Democrats on Tuesday proposed giving states and school districts $50 billion over a decade to fund the teacher raises by canceling tax cuts for high wage earners.

Yes this is excellent. A country should have big budget for education including the salary of the teachers. and besides where do these politicians, doctors, dentists, learned from the teachers who taught them. ha!!!

I think private school teachers need a raise before public. Private school teachers make less than public. My grandparents both taught at a private school for years.

Unfortunately, it didn't work. The 1 percenters still got their permanent tax cut.

I think that's the problem in my country. The local government should raise public teachers' salaries.

I think they want the $$ to fund the schools, not necessarily to pay teachers more.
