Last night we had a commotion because of a thief was trying to steal my phone and my laptop. While I was sleeping, I woke up suddenly because I heard a noise from my fan, and when I woke up I saw the thief who was trying to reach for my phone. I was caught off guard and ask who he was when I shouted: "there's a thief inside the house!".
My Brother who was sleeping in the sala wakes up but he did not catch the thief who easily got through the night. The thief went in and out to our back door. I was in a shock and was nervous. My Brother did not catch the thief.
We called 911 because the thief stole my youngest brother's tablet. He was so worried because that's the only means of his girlfriend's communication.
Did a thief breaks inside your house?
This is the first time I encounter this.

Good thing that there was no one that got hurt during the commotion. I think you have to strengthen your house entrance and security because as you know Christmas is fast approaching this thieves are looking for places to victimised. I think I saw one post in here where they also see in their neighbourhoods being robbed.
Where they successful in their attempt to your cellphone and laptoop?

@JustBhem That's good that you caught them red handed so they were not able to get what they wanted. The only scary thing is that they were able to escape which means they might attempt the second time around. So better be careful because they might try to do it and maybe they might arm themselves to get what they really want from you. I hope they will be caught so they learn their lessons well. For as long as they are on the loose they can still do their thing to others.

Oh my. I remember when I was still a child. Someone went inside our house to steal. I cannot remember most of the details. Good thing you were able to wake up and feel something is weird. Otherwise, you will be left with no phone and laptop. I am guessing this thief knows you and you famly.

That was a dangerious situation because those intruders into houses usually carry weapons with them and when you're awakened, they might harm you out of desperation especially if they're just your neighbors and you see their face. They would be afraid that you might report to the police and they will be caught so they might result to something drastic so that you won't be able to report to the police and have then caught.

Good thing he didn't harm you. Some thieves are armed so we have to be very cautious in doing something that can make them do that. Good thing too that your brother is there with you in the house.
Did you report the incident to the police?

@playertwo I think it is best to have mixed breed dogs in the house.

My mother told us that they encountered it before.. I wasn't born yet that time..
When we were growing up, with my mother as our only guardian at home because my father had to work out of the country, the neighbors said that the bad guys were afraid to enter our compound because my mother had a shotgun... hihihi

@JustBhem but actually she didn't have a shotgun.. LOL It's just what the neighbors know.. hmmm I don't know why..
Even the drunkard neighbor of ours is afraid of my mother. He respects my mother even if he is drunk.

A thief climbed the fence of our neighbor last Friday afternoon and was about to jump into the neighbor's compound but I saw him at shouted asking what he was doing. He answered that he was looking for a houseboy of a neighbor by the name of Miguel which I found out later upon confirmation from the neighbor who now lives in another town that they do not have a houseboy by that name. I secretly took a clear picture of the would-be-thief while I was investigating him. The following morning, another guy went inside the premises of another neighbor but was not able to take anything because he must have sensed that somebody was awake. Did you not lock all your doors (expecially the front and back doors) during the night?

@JustBhem Be more careful and security conscious next time. Good thing you were not harmed because thieves usually do something drastic when you're awakened. Did you recognize him?

My Mother and my other siblings sleep in our living room while my other siblings sleep in other room.
Our back door was closed and we never used it and put a huge water tank there. The thing is, the water tank was not moved but the thief still able to get inside which I am sure they know our place already.

I am glad that none of you got hurt, but it is still a scary experience to find someone in your home.
No one managed to break into our house, but they tried. One day when we got back to our home we noticed that the front door was partly damaged, but they didn't get inside. Maybe they heard our dog and decided to leave. Afterwards we were afraid that they would return, but they never did. We don't live in that house anymore.

@JustBhem I would feel the same way. Yes, it could be someone who is new in the area. One of houses on my street was burgled while we lived here. We have changed to the locks in case they return to our street in the future.

It was scary and every time I think about it, it gives me shiver down my spine.
This is the first time that happened to us because neighbors know that one of my Brother is a member of a gangster (before) and no one tries to beat him. We believe that these thieves are new in this place and probably checking on us.

Yikes! How awful and scary, Bhem. I doubt the police caught him. When I was a little girl, my father was away on a business trip, when a thief tried to break into our basement. Our dog barked and growled and woke up my mother. She saw the thief running away thanks to our big dog. He never got in.
We also had housekeepers steal meat from the freezer and my father's gold watch. They were fired.

Oh, that is so scary! No, we havent been infiltrated by a thief. But some years ago, someone snatched my gold necklace in the street and stole my watch. These happened in public places. But in our village, though our house could easily be infiltrated because of low fence, we havent encountered that. We just have security cameras though.

Wow, what a scary experience. I've never had anyone break in. We have an alarm system installed. We have had cars broken into that people did not lock though.

It is safe, but since Christmas is around the corner for sure thieves are making their way to get to their work. This is the first time that happens to us.
