It was last week when I once again experienced eating through my bear hands.
We call it 'kamayan' though in my vernacular term we call it 'kammet'.
Its a customary traditions for Filipinos to eat with own hands. During old times when spoon and fork are out of scene of eating hour, old folks eat with hands.
Of course we're modern age now. Spoons, fork and knives are essentials in the dining table. Gone were the days.
But few restaurants wanted to offer that experience. And its a hit, many foodies are going there to experience the tradition.
Of course, wash your hands thoroughly before eating with the hands.

There are many things that are eaten with our hands besides your food. Think about hotdogs and hamburgers, sandwiches of all kinds and pizzas. All food has to be eaten after washing our hands

Not for a while now. Specially if you have a dog that kept asking to touch you every time you go outside.

I eat everyday and most of the Indians still do especially when it is chapatti with curry. I even prefer to eat my rice with dal and curry with hand. Only for deserts, noodles and fried rice, I use fork or spoon.

@ilocosboy It is supposed to be a healthier way as finger tips have more sensory receptors. It is feeding through sense which leads to contentment and better health.

@ilocosboy indeed. for me, either breakfast, lunch or dinner, as long as there is fried dried fish, the ''kammet'' goes a very long way

Last week, I think, when I fried some milkfish for lunch. It was kinda hard to take off the fish bones with spoon and fork so I decided to just use my hands to mince the fish and then I ate it with rice. Loved it!
