I gushed over the news that Phantom of the Opera is coming in Manila! I am a fan of stage plays and musicals. If I were in Manila, I would book tickets at a whim. The last time I watched this was in 2012 with my cousin and friends. It was nothing short of spectacular.
I could not forget the superb performers, on point aesthetic values and everything in between intoxicatingly brought us to a new dimension.
My favorite part of the play -even in the movie- was the chandelier drop.
Do you like watching musicals? What is your favorite?
The video below is an excerpt from The Phantom of the Opera musical last September 2012.

I love to watch a stage play. Thereto you will know who really can act well, because it islive and any mistake cannot be corrected anymore.
I think I saw the movie of that, but not the stage play. It must be so nice to watch that. Good for you that you have watched it.

@SIMPLYD It actually gets cheaper when you buy tickets close to its opening day. And, what my friends and I do is, we buy balcony tickets and bring our own binoculars.

I've only been to one musical: Cats. I saw it twice, once in L.A. with a friend and once here in Louisville with my mom.

Wow! Cats! My professor let us watch a recorded Cats musical back in college. I was mesmerized. I promised myself that I would watch it someday. Unfortunately, I missed the first Cats musical in the Philippines.

My favorite stage show is "Showboat." I would like to see the "Donna Summer Broadway Show" if it comes to Lake Charles

I have not been to a musical in many years when I used to live in Los Angeles. My favorites were "Cats", "Dream Girls" and my all time favorite was "A Chorus Line". In fact, when Chorus closed in LA, I flew up to San Francisco and saw it there.

@Paradon I feel the same way. Last month, Chicago was staged here (Korea) but the ticket cost an arm a leg - two times more expensive. I missed watching the show in the Philippines because I was pregnant during that time.
