My Christmas Tree

I ordered my tree from Wal-Mart this morning, and if any of you are part of Swagbucks or Ebates, they are giving 10% cashback for SB and 7% for Ebates. Anyway, I needed a tree, and I wasn't going to get a big one as I really don't have the room for one, so I opted for a fiber optic 32" tree, as pictured above.
When I got the notification it was ready for pickup, I was encouraged by how easy it was to get there, traffic was light, and the light was in my favor, and when I got there, at 11 AM on a Saturday morning during the Christmas season, I found a parking space close to the door for Customer Service pickup. When I walked in the line for Customer Service was long. However, the pickup line had only one person. I went through the long line and made my way to the waiting lane, and soon had my tree and I was out the door.
I love the Christmas season. The wonderful friendly spirit that permeates everywhere. As I backed out of my parking spot, a car started coming towards me. I thought she wasn't going to give me any room to get out of the lane. As soon as I was backed out enough, she drove into the space, barely giving me a chance to get out. RUDE. At least she waited long enough for me to get out of the space. However, I felt crowded and didn't know what her intentions were until she pulled into the space I vacated three seconds before.
If this is what the Christmas season has come to, I'm ordering everything online, maybe even my groceries. I hate the total commercialism of Christmas.
I know I'm never going out on Saturday again before Christmas, and I'm not going to Wal-Mart unless I can order it and pick it up and get out of there as quickly as I did this morning. I might need to be a midnight shopper. Hopefully, it will be a good time to shop.
Anyway, I made it home in one piece, my tree is on the entertainment center where the manger used to be. And I can get back to the notifications and work on Thread of Evidence when I get them all caught up.
I didn't watch a Christmas movie yesterday, so I might watch two today. What are you doing today? Thanks for reading.

Same as @marlina, I heard my parents talking about commercialism of Christmas when I was still a young girl. I find people more and more rude during the holidays. They are only busy buying what they need, not caring to be a bit polite toward other people. Your Christmas tree is nice.

This time of year is when all the crazies are out and about trying to find gifts for their families and since most people work they are in a rush to get in hunt for something and get back to work.
I generally only shop (usually for food) between 9am and 2pm, it's not as bad during those hours but you'll still find the lunies sometimes.
You got a cute tree.

In my town 7am is rush hour for those who need to go to work @just4him so I avoid driving that late in the morning, however I have gotten up at 4am and headed out by 5am with almost no traffic to speak of, worked well for me as long as I went to walmart as no other stores actually open until 10am.

Thank you. I'm going to stick to shopping right after the pool at 7 AM. It's before the rest of the world is either out of bed, or they're at work and I can shop in peace and find a good parking place without someone rushing to grab it before or after me.

Watching it rain from the kitchen table out the sliding glass door. It has been steady since this morning. Pick up here is near the front of the store away from customer service or you call when you are in the designated parking area (10 spots up front which I don't understand as I have only seen one or two cars at any one time parked there waiting for their order to be carried out. But fresh produce and meat I will not order online as I want to see what I am getting in that area.

That's a really cute Christmas tree you got there, Valerie. We've yet to put up ours. I spent the long weekend with my kids at home. I did watch a few Christmas movies and read a book.

I love to read your stories, and I am so glad I popped in. I have been so busy with doctor appointments and surgeries. Your tree looks lovely. If you go shopping late at night, do be careful. If your bill at Walmart is at least 35 dollars, I believe they will deliver your item or items free of charge. If your buy 25 dollars worth, they deliver it free of charge. I don't drive. Thus, I like that kind of deal.

@MsBooklover Yes, but not until they say it's time to do so. They won't do the surgery until it's 75% bad.

Those are marked. One has 2016 on a foot and the other has 2017. I was fortunate to get a boy and girl bear. I fell in love with them when I saw the boy bear two years ago. I don't think I'll be getting anymore bears this year. I've named them Buster and Trixie.
