Pushing Buttons

United Kingdom

I don't often have the time to come here, but when I do I seem to push a lot of buttons! It keeps me entertained for, oh, at least five minutes. In the 'good old days' we called it 'winding' someone up. When they took the bait they were said to have 'bitten'. After which we would 'banter', that means using quick wit and repartee. It is something called fun. However, it seems today's Snowflakes are offended by such a concept, as it is more 'on trend' to be overly sensitive than to freely enjoy oneself. Oh dear me! how sad.

Amid all of the "Me Too" hype, you have to walk and talk on eggshells around people, including those on social media. But NEVER Roll the Tongue! That could get you arrested. Sense of humor has gone out the window with privacy.

Indeed, but I think it is more a 'fashion'. It seems if someone needs to be 'special' in some way nowadays. I think it is attention seeking as social contact is more online and less 'meat space,'

@TheRamblingMan That's true also. Online communication has given people a larger audience in which to place themselves at center stage to recite their "Poor Me" monologues. I don't mean to sound insensitive but those people have nothing productive to contribute to the growth of Social Media.

I like spending time here. I learn a lot and earn something little while at it
