Don't Pee on Me!

Our newest dog, Tee, is now 6 months old. Usually he comes in at night to sleep, but last night he refused to come in (he wanted to hog our other dog's special outside chair, instead). Well, morning comes and I go out to feed the dogs (don't ask me why the kids didn't do it). Tee sees me and starts hunching into a ball. He slinks over to my side, I pat his head, and he promptly starts peeing on my bare foot. What. The. Heck!? He never, ever does that! I jump back and he sits, still squirting at me like a water fountain. I start dodging to avoid the shots and then he books it into the house, since I conveniently left the door open for him. I call him back and he pees again, this time on the floor in front of the back door. I can't figure out if he did something wrong during the night and was feeling guilty, or if he thought he was in trouble because we didn't give him a second chance to come in for the night before WE went to bed. Either way, I DON'T appreciate being peed on. I am NOT a fire hydrant! I deal with enough bodily fluids from my kids! What do your pets do when they feel guilty about something...do they pee on you?

My uncle had a weenie dog that peed every time someone greeted him. We eventually learned to ignore the dog until he got used to us being in the house. Then we could pet him. I really hope Tee isn't turning into that kind of dog. Though his body language made me think he was afraid...like he'd done something wrong.

@shaggin Are they males? I've only ever noticed it in boy dogs.

I think he got a scare during the night and thinks he was left out as a punishment.

I think you're right. I haven't noticed anything different in the yard that he might have chewed up and feels sorry for.

We taught our older dog that WE are the Alpha. I think Tee is still learning that little tidbit of info.

He's already started. I'm already trained to come running to the door when he whines to come inside!

That seems strange behaviour. Is he marking you as his own perhaps?

I think he was just scared. Not sure if he felt bad because we never brought him in for the night (his own darn fault) or what. Hopefully that won't become a habit!

He was mad at you for not letting him in when HE wanted to come in. (By that time you were already asleep and probably didn't hear him whining to come in. He held his bladder so he could let you know how upset he was when he saw you.

He must have because he let loose quite a stream of urine! How do male dogs DO that? They go and then five seconds later they have more for marking with! Ug!

Of being peed on by a dog? I don't think Tee meant to, honestly. I think he was afraid he was in trouble for something. Now I have had a friend's dog pee on my on purpose before. Maybe there's just something about me that makes dogs want to pee?

My dog never peed on me when he felt guilty, he would just have a guilty look in his eye. Maybe your dog just needed to use the restroom, though from what I understand some dogs do pee themselves when they're scared. So yeah your dog might've wet himself out of guilt...
