What Would You Want?

My husband's sister, her husband and their 2 children aged 9 & 10 will be coming home by the 26th of December from Melbourne , Australia.
As a practice of the Filipinos, the one coming home will bring gifts or tokens for the family.
She asked me what I like , my hubby and our daughter.
Hubby likes perfume and so do I.
I told her any of these : Bvlgari - Amethyst , Beautiful by Estee Lauder , Cool Water for Her or D & G Light Blue , which are my favorites.
She asked hubby what specific perfume he wants. It's Cool Water for Men.
As to our daughter, she will ask her.
What would you want as a gift if ever you will be asked by a relative or family member coming home from abroad?

@SIMPLYD I understand this too while a gift is nice ,the giver also wants to get it right.
I also ask for what colours a person prefers if I am buying clothes

I am not interested in those though. I always wpuld ask for those perfumes which are my favoritea because they are expensive.
What I buy for my everyday use are the versions of those brands that are really smelling like them and they last long on my blouses.
Others would admire the scent when I walk by.
I like perfumes.

So, it's chocolates for you.
We don't ask for chocolates anymore because she always send us those even when they last came here .
Along with those, when she came home many years before, she has perfumes for each of us in addition to those chocoates and others like towels.

@SIMPLYD Chocolates are the usual items that people from abroad give as "pasalubong" but mostly (like you), people are already fed up with chocolates.

I always feel uncomfortable being asked by relatives or friends as to what gift I'd want because I really don't expect anything.

@sunrisefan I agree. That's how I am too, I ask what more or less would the recipient want that is somehow not so draining to my budget.

@SIMPLYD Perhaps she wants to make sure that you'll really like what she'll give.

@SIMPLYD My favorites are Courtesan by Worth, which I was only able to purchase in London, and here, I only buy scents from Bond New York #9 which sells a variety of "New York" scents. My two favorites are Riverside Drive and New York City. I have a couple of others I also use, but at almost $400 a bottle, I make them last.

So you like Bvlgari too? What particular Bvlgari perfume are for men?
I was actually gifted with Bvlgari last 2016 by my batchmate who came from Canada. It actually has Bvlgari and in white bottle. I didn't know its particular name. It was so fragrant.
Then the other month i was enticed by a salesgirl in the lobby of the mall to test their Perfume versions of branded ones.
So, i asked do you yave Bvlgari? Yes, Amethyst she said. So, i tested it in my pulse and wow, it was the scent of the Bvlgari given to me.
It is long lasting also and so fragrant.
In fact, a salesgirl in SM when i bought a lipstick, said " i love your perfume mam. And she said Bvlgari Amethyst. I just smiled and said thank you because it's Ian Darcy's version of that. But it was mistaken for the original.

Yes, there are duty shops indeed in the airport. Though, when they buy it from there they're cheaper, she said even if here it is in duty free.

@SIMPLYD My dad said that was customary for people here too when they go back to Japan. My dad hadn't gone for decades . . . and when we did go, he brought all the stuff he used to take (Hershey's chocolates, coffee, etc) but the most recent trip he realized Japan already has that stuff .

Food gifts are usually the ones she send from Australia in the box she would send every six months, to us here in the Philippines.
But now that she will be coming in person, she wants to give something that each of us would want for ourselves. ,

I think it is up for the recipient to choose a gift she likes but see to it that it is something affordable more or less to the giver.

Wow! We have the same taste when it comes to perfumes. I love D&G Light blue and Bvglari-Amethyst as well. Lanvin Eclat smells good, too! As for me, I usually ask for bag, makeup and perfume

Wow, we really have the same taste, because I would also like for those 3 also.
But, she still have to give the others too. I have to consider that.
Hmm, I haven't smelled nor seen Lanvin Eclat.
I guess, that one is mildly scented too, since we have the same taste.
