Have you tried steamed Pumpkin cake?
It was the first time that I have baked a steamed cake. As you might know, my oven is out of order and I can't use it and so I found an alternative in making cakes.
A friend of ours gave us a piece of pumpkin, 3 unripe papayas and a branch of plantain. So I made the cake from our steaming pot. I thought it will not turn out great but it was.
My small nieces were excited as they helped me prepared the batter. That way I showed them how to make a cake in a steamer. They brought with them to school each a piece of this cake this morning. I had to tell them to leave 2 slices for me and my cousin before they would forget. It was indeed delicious.
Well, are you also creative when one baking utensil or kitchen furniture is out of order?
Thanks for reading. Have a great day!

You don't have to bake to make a cake. You can have a cake without baking that is why it is called a no bake cake or a steam cake and even an iced cake @allknowing. You can also make a cake using a rice cooker. Check you tube.

@thelme55 In a pressure cooker you need to put a tray of sand below heat it up and place the cake pan on top of it and cook it until done.. the heat below needs to be regulated.. when you don't do that the cake gets burnt. Yes, i do make a few steamed dishes,. I guess flans are one of them..

I have not make a cake in a pressure cooker. I didn't know that we can use that for baking, too @sofssu. There are a lot steamed desserts here in the Philippines and so steaming is not new to me. Thanks for dropping by. Enjoy your coming weekend.

Yes, I boiled the squash first without skin and when it was cooked I mashed it and add it to the cake batter @hereandthere.

Yes, that is true @ethal2018. I didn't ask them how it tasted. I could see it in their faces how delicious the cake was.
