My harvest for today / myLot

I just pulled up some fresh radish for salad. There is more from which this bunch came from. So we have a few more days of radishes left, possibly right until spring if I keep sowing more seeds. I love the fresh organic food from my garden.. I love the fact that i know the quality of the produce we are eating..... I am usually more concerned with veggies we tend to eat raw, like tomatoes, lettuce , radishes, cucumbers etc. I try to grow most of them in and out of season.. I also make sure to buy organic veggies when I don't have enough. Do you buy organic stuff or grow them?

I buy from local farmer markets, only organic.

@LadyDuck here the local farmers spray it with pesticides as this crop is highly susceptible to pest attacks.. especially aphids..

@sofssu Here the pesticides have been banned years ago and farmers are obliged to state if they only use organic fertilizers. The Swiss agricultural laws are very strict.

Organic is something special but it is difficult to get organic veggies. You are luck to get in your garden. Do you make any dishes with radish other than making as salad.

@sofssu I don't know whether in my place I am getting organic or not. But I noticed some people are selling vegetables from field and it seems to be fresh. Still not sure as all sellers gather in one place. So radish is good for making pickle?

@Sreekala Orgainic veggies are available everywhere, but a bit more expensive. My boys don't like it cooked, so I stick to salads and pickles.

I have not space to grow, although I like it. In India organic veggies is not available every where.

@anil02 I grow them on my terrace.. even when i lived in an apartment i grew them in the balconies.. its so much fun.

@sofssu I have some pots at roof of my house. It is not possible for me to go on the roof because some health problem. Other wise I also like to grow some vegetable in these.

@sofssu I grow lots of garlic organically, but I'm waiting till spring to plant radishes, spinach, kale and beetroot as well as potatoes. Hopefully I'll have enough to feed my son's family from spring till winter.

I am seriously thinking of getting back to vegetables. We had quite a crop of every vegetable we grew including radish. Looking at your photo I get tempted to go back. Very healthy looking radish there
