Cupcakes or Cake?

We are planning a wedding for next year. One of the things that is interesting, is my daughter is a huge fan of cupcakes (but not really of cake) however, one of my sisters (kidding) said she wouldn't come to the wedding if there wasn't a cake. That got me thinking, when did cupcakes become part of weddings? Every wedding I went to years ago, always had an ornate wedding cake. Now it seems the weddings I go to, all have cupcakes. What does the mylot world thinK? Is my sister old fashioned wanting to have a cake?

You can have a change, keep a big cake and also keep some cupcakes near to the big. It will be a different scene and your daughter and and sister will be happy.

I don't think so, its just your sister's personal preference I guess, for a cake. Anyway, cakes is the usual or sort of 'norm' in weddings, its just now a days that people are more creative and experimenting; trying something different such as cupcakes. And I think its ok Whatever the couple decides on If you can have both why not hehehe

Cupcakes can be a good choice but a nice wedding cake is something to really remember the event by. Have seen a few programs about how they design cakes now both from England and the U.S. and they were spectacular too. Good luck with all of it.

For others having cupcakes are more fashionable at the same time is that you can spend less in it. But everyone has different perspective so let the bride choose whatever she likes, it's her wedding anyway ????

I usually see a cake being used for weeding and there are times cupcakes for giveaways after weddings but it seems you need to have a cupcake and cakes!
