My book has arrived from Amazon. Written by myLotter Rachel Lovejoy (@RaeLove) the book From the Urban Wilderness: Life in the Southern Maine Woods is a collection of essays which first appeared as weekly columns is a local newspaper.
As a nature- and animal-lover the title and blurb (great word - blurb) appealed to me and of course, I had read many of Rachel’s myLot posts. I’ve only had time to read a few of the essays but I’m really enjoying it. It isn’t a book to be quaffed down in one sitting like a cheap wine but rather one to savour and mull over each chapter, more like you would a rich red wine if you liked rich red wine which I don’t particularly but I’m sure you know what I mean.
So thanks Rachel for a pleasurable read about a natural world which is quite foreign to me. I’m looking forward to spending more time in your ‘neck of the woods’.

@nawala123 I've forgotten what it would have cost Rachel to post but the total was $41.46 from Amazon with free shipping so that isn't much help to you. The last very small flat light package that I sent to Austria cost $A28. Even within Australia it is expensive.

Very interesting! So you're a woodsy kind of person? I will look up Rachel and read some of her stuff (If I haven't read it already). I am so forgetful these days.

@JudyEv I'm trying to do puzzles to keep my brain active but it's not improving my memory.

That sounds wonderful, my father family were from Maine and we often visited the relatives there. Loved Maine and especially love the shore of the Atlantic.

@PainsOnSlate Another good thing about myLot. I'm sure we each have at least a little more knowledge about each other's homeland than we did.

It's nice when you know the author of a book even if you haven't actually met them in person.
