Others see me as successful and happy but they do not really know I cry at night.

One of my friends told me that what I have now is what she has been dreaming of and she has been jealous of my present condition. I have my stable job which gives me decent amount of money. We have our own house and I have gadgets and nice clothes. On the other hand, I still feel incomplete. Every night loneliness visit me and makes me cry. My boyfriend for many years suddenly turned cold and without any words at all left me. Since we are in a long distance relationship, it is not easy for me to travel to his place to know what really happened. I am a cross enrollee student as well which makes me too busy to book a flight to another destination.

Well it is you choice if you want to stay sad and lonely. But if I were you, you should look what others see in you and be happy about that since they see you as successful and happy in life. Why not emulate what they see in you instead of you seeing yourself sad and loveless and desperate. I think its just perspectives we have to see. If you really have a sad life no one would be jealous about what you achieve in life. That is a sign that you just forgot to see that side of you that your life is not as sad as it looked to be. It is you alone who is making it sad despite the fact that others see otherwise.

I agree with you. That is true but I hope it is as easy as that. Its like getting a wound that you would try to heal as fast as it can but only magic can automatically heal it on the spot, and there is no such thing as pixie dust or fairy grandmother to grant those wishes.

She should not be jealous and maybe it is your job that she is impressed with. You have your own house and some don't have this. Some of them aspire to get a house in the future. She might wish to have similar gadgets and nice clothes. You feel lonely since things aren't working out with your long distance relationship. With a long distance relationship the people share visits and it can take too much time. Depending on the distance it can be expensive. Think of all you have and feel proud. Try to feel strong about your love life. You might meet someone else near you that is a much better boyfriend. Good luck.

@annierose I had a long distance relationship with a gorgeous man I met on a long distance walk. So we began a long distance relationship that lasted 8 months. Yes, you find it difficult to love again after 5 years. Maybe in time you will meet the right man.

I tend to believe that we are all blessed in different ways. That there's always something and someone to be thankful for despite the adversities we face in life. Your friend probably sees the many blessings you have in your life.
