I never have to grow tomatoes , my garden is full of volunteer plants. Makes me wonder how they even get there, everyday I have to weed off at least a handful of tomato plants from my other pots.. Yes, you heard me right.. weed them off.. I feel guilty doing this but I have limited space and can't have too many plants. I have around twelve plants at any given time.. Its amazing how well these plants grow and yield. I try to give away the tomatoes that I don't use.. because we have fresh ones all the time. This one here is a nice juicy sweet variety that I use for salads. Its not very big though. Sometimes the plants break and fall to the ground due to the weight of the fruits.. I stake them and it still happens.. Chilies and eggplants are other plants that just come up on their own. I am grateful for a garden ( or at least a part of it) that grows by itself.

@Fruity_ Oh okay get a fence or something to protect your plants.. My pet is trained not to touch the plants or dig around.

@sofssu It's not about climate, but it's due to my pets who like to play in the garden .

I wish that would happen to my yard but it's way too dry here plus in the summer it's usually dry as well as really hot, not exactly the right kind of climate for most veggies, dang it all.

Generally it's at least 37(c) or more from June through August, sometimes it's that high in September as well.

@rebelann our temperatures could touch 38 degrees c in the peak of summer and average around 27 through summer. Its difficult to grow veggies .. we have our gardens semi shaded with protective nets so the plants don't get burnt.

@Icydoll I'd love to have a curry leaf plant.. I have actually asked my friend to give me a cutting from hers. Its is difficult to grow it from cuttings but I have seen a lot of people grow that way on youtube.

@allknowing aww I wish i could send you some baby plants.. The easiest way to grow tomatoes is take over ripe tomatoes, slice them and place them in a pot with a light covering of spoil.. spray water everyday and you will have a whole bunch of plants in no time.

In my opinion, actually these plants will not grow by themselves if for no reason, because these plants can grow only from the seeds of the fruit, And if we don't feel like planting the tomato tree, actually we don't know it, unconsciously we have thrown away the tomato seeds, then he will grow up ...

@KOLAMsegaran1 Yeah obviously they grow from seeds, but mine being a container garden on my terrace i don't throw stuff around.. so this is obviously from the farm manure i buy.. I don't have to grow tomatoes from seeds.. That is my point.

@TheHorse The cherry tomatoes are the biggest volunteers.. the ripe ones fall down and grow a huge bunch of plants if i don't watch out. I have lettuce growing like wild plants here and succulents too.

Tomatoes are where the local farmers give lots of pesticide... I love tomatos. The cherry tomatoes come up wild in the garden , the seeds are in the cow dung that is used for manure. This is when I had a garden

@responsiveme Yeah you are right about that.. pesticide enriched tomatoes.. Oh yeah cherry tomatoes are a bigger pain.. LOL they are all over the place. another nuisance (I shouldn't say that) is lettuce they sprout everywhere. too much of a good thing.

You are so lucky to have tomatoes, chilies and eggplants in your garden! I would probably puree the tomatoes with garlic and use them as dip. Same goes for the eggplant.

Birds are the one bringing that veggies to your space. They love to eat tomatoes and left the seeds everywhere but atleast you can have tomatoe shake.
