What is really Taboo in your society?

What really is so bad that your society does not permit it but you want it so baly? In my society use of vulgar word is considered bad but we hear them often on the roads or in public. Even I want to use some of them to take my frustration out. What is that you want to do but your society won't allow that.

I am not sure I want any of those things. I think I have good self control and over the years it has become second nature to me. On the other hand I find some of the things the society accepts to be repulsive to me.

I don't think we want most of them but as the things stand we have either inherited them or such things were forced on us

@suni51 I mean like I wouldn't want to use bad language or cuss words or be rude at anytime even though mild cussing may be accepted . Maybe I belong to the old school of thought.

I am sure every society has some or the other thing which is unliked by many in the society. Maybe these things are not so many or not practiced by many in your country so you are not aware of them. Good for you.

@nela13 I think we all have them in some form or the other and we have to live with them.

@suni51 you are right but I think that here are more prejudices than taboo.

Hmm, this is a tough one, but I think something that is kind of taboo to talk about here is talking about your salary. People don't usually do this. I honestly wouldn't mind sharing that information, but it just seems to be frowned upon.

I think some people here would love to talk about that! However, no one tells about their salary until asked though!

@suni51 People here are hesitant about sharing that information, even when they are asked. Not sure why, but I guess we're a pretty closed off people.

I notice there is kind of a change in the offing in that our country is accepting what was earlier considered taboo such as gay marriages.

@suni51 It exists but not openly accepted. There are still reservations.

Some people have come back to Thailand to become a different person and they have been married. I do not know if they are happy later on.
