OMG! Baby Boys Suck MILK more than the Baby Girls: Is it a FACT?

For the past few days, I was helping my younger sister to take good care of her newborn baby boy. I had noticed that it sucks milk often. I was quite amazed looking at him and whine aloud if breastmilk is not enough. According to my sister, baby needs to be feed every after 2 hours. Thus, I wondered if it applies to both genders. Since I have a little niece, I haven't seen her acted this way during here babyhood days. "Does baby boy suck milk that often?" "Does baby boy cry much?" Image Credit: images.fitpregnancy.mdpcdn.com

I am sorry to hear that. The question is, what's the alternative milk for you at that time?

I think you are right. Since my sister claimed that babies need to have their milk every after 2 hours.

I fed my babies myself for a while and they do tend to cry more at the start and then as they settle down it all calms down as well. Congrats to your Sister and her newborn Son. My boys cried a lot one more than the other.

@Shavkat Its part of his getting attention. In Spain old saying "he who does not cry, does not get fed".

Young babies need to suck around every two hours. You see all they have is the mum's milk to drink. Later on they get weened and so they eat baby like food. A baby boy seems to suck a lot and some baby girls as well. I think back in a happy way when my two children were babies back in 2007 and 2009

I haven't found it out I think perhaps baby boys grow faster and they are bigger compare to baby girls, so this is why they suck milk more often than baby girls?

I also think that it depends how big the baby is. With this, baby boys tend to be hungry that often.

It is common to girl and boys, need to suck with a gap of two hours. They are too hungry.

I agree. It seems that it was proven that even babies are covered in gender equality

@Mavic123456 I respect your opinion. Since I only experienced having a little niece, she is not that a whiner during her infant days. This new baby nephew is quite the opposite though. Perhaps it varies from one baby to another, either boys or girls.

I don't know if it is gender-related or more dependent on the individual child. Both my sons had to be nursed about every 2-3 hours but weren't whiney about it as I remember.

That's what I had learned from my sister. She was informed by her doctor and that is, to let the infant have their feeding time every after 2 hours.

I agree that it should be every 2 hours. At some point, it varies from one baby to another. It is quite overrated for my baby nephew to cry out loud and wanted to be always being carried.

@Shavkat In realty, most newborns should be fed every 2 to 3 hours. As they get bigger, their tummies can hold more milk, the time for feeding becomes every 3 to 4 hours.

Nope. It depends on the baby, not on the gender. I do have a girl and a boy and they behaved rather similar during their first years.

I really don't know. But I'm interested. What did your research reveal? Do baby boys really drink more milk when they're young?

i think younger baby will tend to suck milk often due to milk is the only source of food for them. But the frequency might be individual basis and not based on gender. If there are allergic reaction after the baby consumed mother's milk then they have too drink commercial milk formula. I am not married yet so but this answer should sound logic right.
