Marie's Caesar Dressing - Keep Refrigerated !

I bought a new kind of salad dressing a few days back, called Marie's Caesar Dressing. Only problem was, when I went looking for it today it was not in the refrigerator.
I found it in the food pantry.
Oh well, I guess it's okay. It has not yet been opened.
I placed it in the refrigerator and will not open it until it is cold again.
My only concern is, will it be okay to eat after it is opened, after it has been chilled? So I did Google search to find out exactly what I needed to know.
I left a message on their Facebook wall. Now I must wait for a response.
I really do hope it has not been ruined for being in dry storage for a few days since I bought it. Unopened.
OOps. Not. I checked with Yahoo! Answers and the best answer was a NO.
The fact that the product contains no preservatives, is why it must remain cold and never reach room temperature to be eaten.
So basically this is a learning curve for me. Always keep salad dressing cold and do not, repeat ... Do Not store it in the pantry closet. That was a 4 dollar lesson I do not want to have to repeat.

I will enjoy it when I get a new fresh cold jar of it. I will buy two next time. One will be Caesar and the other one will be Ranch. Love them both. another brand I also like is
Marie Callenders House dressing from Cooks dot com. This one is a recipe to make at home, but I buy it ready made in the refrigerated section of the produce department at my local grocer.

If it says to keep refrigerated I would throw it out and get a new one.

That is what I must do. I was so much looking forward to trying it, but better to be safe than sorry.

@lookatdesktop I never buy dressing so dont know much about them. But depending on the ingredients you could make yourself pretty sick.

@wolfgirl569 , Thank God I did not eat any of it. I started to think. Hey, where is that dressing? I mean, I bought it a week ago and now that I want some of it, it is no where to be found. Turns out my wife cleaned out the refrigerator a few days ago, and thought it was cluttered so she got rid of leftovers and I washed all the plastic and rubber containers that are used to store refrigerated leftovers that never get eaten.
Then I remembered that the dressing was in a cold storage in the store. OOPS. I bet it was put in with the canned goods and other condiments at room temperature. I looked for it and there it was. The thing was never opened. But I figured I had best go get another one cold. I wasted about 3 dollars and some odd cents. That brand is a good one and so is this other brand, called Bolthouse Farms, a division of Campbell soup company. BoltHouse Farms sells lots of good things. in December of 2018, I think it was, Campbell soup company sold off Bolthouse Farms as a business decision as a positive move. They still sell Bolthouse Farms products in stores where we shop.

You know, I might get an insulated ice box full of ice to put it in when I go shopping so that way it will stay nice and cold for the trip back home. It would otherwise be at above room temperature for about 20 minutes from the time it leaves the store in my bag to the car and the drive back to the house. That would give it a better chance at staying fresh and cold. I bet people don't think about that when they buy dairy products thinking about how long cold food is exposed to warm air on a long drive from store to home.

I will have to just pour it down the drain, recycle the container and next time be sure to keep it cold. I love that dressing though. I really wish my wife had not put it in the food closet. But we all make mistakes and I don't care about it that much. It's like, we probably do need a second fridge.

@CarolDM , I like Ranch myself. I like dipping baby carrots and celery hearts. Nice and crunchy, cold and creamy.

Yes, and your solution is sound as it reflects exactly what was stated on Yahoo! Answers. I am glad I got this verified here at myLot before I learned the hard way. I will dispose of it at a loss and next time keep the one I purchase properly stored in a refrigerator.
