Off now for six days!

Well I am finally done with work and not long for the big day to arrive. I saw this sign this morning and thought it was quite funny although I doubt it would be funny if you were an insomniac! It has been extra busy coming up to Christmas so many patients are being discharged home just in time which means that we are called upon to give a final ok before they can go home. It has been incredibly busy these past two weeks I have never known anything like it. My team are absolutely exhausted and I did not get off work till quite late last night the only positive about that was the rush hour traffic had finished by time I got out of work which meant the drive home only took an hour which was a bonus. It is quite funny to think that this will be the last time I will be involved in this madness just prior to Christmas so I only have three months left to work! This morning we are off to visit another town to go to the bank, to collect some stuff we have ordered and back to my town to visit the pharmacy before an appointment at the hospital at 12:30 for an eye check. My daughter is dropping off the grand children around 4PM so it looks like it is a full steam ahead day today. Tomorrow will be even busier as I need to start my Christmas shopping so I will try to creep out of the house around 6AM to start the Christmas shopping at the supermarket. I hope I can get out of the house before the grandchildren wake up otherwise they will insist I stay with them and play with them. Once I am back and pack the stuff away I will have to go to the town to do the gift shopping. Thankfully I will only need to get small surprise gifts now which we give at different times over the Christmas day. While I am off I am hoping to pack my cases for our trip to India the week after. I will not have the opportunity to do that after Boxing day as I will be working right up until we go although I am taking half a day off the day before we go so I can always put some final things into the cases if I need to.
