Winter Solstice and an (almost) full moon

Well, it is the shortest day of the year and if we look at the moon tonight, it will appear to be full, but that happens tomorrow night. But it will be 2029 before that happens again, so I will be looking for sure.
Not only do we have that happening, but maybe some will be lucky enough to see the Ursids meteor shower if we are in the right place. There might be as many as ten "shooting stars" per minute.
We will have a clear cold night, so I will venture out to see what I can see.
How does the moon look where you live?

It is that the full moon will not happen on the day of winter solstice again until 2029. They can determine this scientifically.

@Acefun It does not disappear. It just will not be full on the date of the solstice again for 29 years. The moon will continue to appear in all its phases as long as the earth lasts.

Oh no, it will be my after life to meet with a full moon on that day.
Regret not taking picture of the moon.
Is there any specific reason for the moon to disappear for a long time?

@JamesHxstatic If I wake up in the middle of the night I try to take a photo, it's breezy now, I think we are going to have a wonderful winter sky.

@LadyDuck I hate to wake up like that, but a photo would be great.

That should be a good one to see. Clear nights are quite cold here though.

We have a full moon tonight (22nd December). My eldest son has taken some pictures so I'll have a look at them later. I couldn't pay much attention to the Moon at the time s I was driving!

Yes, driving does make it difficult to look at the sky.

Longest day of the year for me. I did not look at the moon, but I´ll look at it tomorrow.

We had a beautiful new moon too - or nearly so - the last couple of nights.
