I do not socialise and that is not an over statement

There is a wedding right across my house. You can see the bridal car parked almost touching our gate. Yes I am invited for that wedding but I do no go for weddings and such events that involve spending hours at a go. But those who invite me understand and to top it all they will come for parties that I organise

People would take it bad here, I would go there a moment to show that I do not snob their weddings.

No such thing here. If I was selective then it would not be right

That is nice they still come to your parties even though you don't go to theirs. I usually try to go to anything I am invited too but a lot of people here won't go to other people's parties if you don't go to theirs.

I can understand not wanting to go to an event that lasts for hours. I'm glad your neighbours come to your parties.

@JustBhem I was a great one for that but now I prefer having parties at my own place but not attend those organised by others.

Out of courtesy you are invited. You express well wishes and it seems, since you do this for all invitations, that it is okay with them.

If I had been selective surely there would have been cause for resentment

I hate getting dressed for special occasions. If I can go anywhere in just casual clothes I am ready to go. As it is getting dressed to work five days a week is enough for me. Weekends are for staying in night clothes only.

@allknowing Nowadays its all about competition in every way. And people now are more interested in taking pics to post on social media sites than enjoying the celebrations.

In the good old days there was more friendship and camaraderie but now they just want a crowd.

I always decline this kind of invitations. I do not like to socialize a lot, I have a limited number of good friends and it's enough for me.

Indian weddings go on too long. I agree with you. We have been invited to three this year. My wife will go but fortunately I am not!
