Hello, I live in Israel and I have heard before and read now that the State Department issued an advisory not to travel to Israel. I hate to burst your bubble but people are coming to live here so that should say that this country is safe. Israel is the safest country in the world. We have security everywhere. Yes, we have things happen here but so do places outside of here like in Europe and the United States. So would you postpone travel plans to go to either of those places? If not, then why not come visit this beautiful country. Israel is a place to see. I hope you will read what I wrote and understand that you will be fine here. I travel around Jerusalem and I am fine.
I found the perfect video for you to look at. You will not know the people speaking but just listen to what they say. It does not show you cities but it gives you good information about the Jewish People and what we have gone through in life. I hope you will enjoy it and get a feel about us and how important this country means to us.
Can ancient prophecies about Israel be true? Is the Bible true or relevant today? This video will put those questions to rest!!

I do not have money to travel, if I did, I would visit Israel. I have friends who have visited Israel. They loved it.

I am sorry you cannot travel here but so glad you had friends that came here and loved it. I hope they spread the word that we are an amazing place to visit.

@Hannihar Hey! Happy new year to you...well it's close anyway.
What made you want to do this post? Were people saying Israel wasn't safe?
I've only ever seen pictures on the internet and it looks beautiful and just like anywhere else in the world, it will have it's flaws and crimes. Thank you for the information. Hopefully this will put people's minds at ease.

Thanks DANI. Someone commented that someone told them not to come here. Also the State Deparment has done this before saying Israel is not safe and trying to stop people from coming here so I needed to write a post. It is not like anyone where else in the world. This country is the only Jewish country we have in teh world and it si very special. I love this country with all my heart and want others to see it. Thank you but that is not my New year but hope you have a good one. My New Year is in September. It is our Jewish New Year. I only celebrate Jewish things and holidays here. Thank you for taking the time to read my post and commenting.

@Hannihar oh I am so sorry. I didn't mean any disrespect with my wishing you a Happy New Year. I hope that didn't make me sound ignorant. I am very fond of learning about other cultures / religions / traditions etc but can't say I am familiar with them all. Thank you for you wishing me a happy new year. I guess in a way I shall wish you a belated Happy New Year for September. Or an early one lol whichever way you see it.

Despite my love of Israel, and despite what "reports" have been put out there, I have to say that there is nothing about Israel I find "safe." It's a beautiful country and I LOVE it. But I would not travel there in a million years despite what anyone says. Not in a million years.

Wow you are a Kohen. You have a lot of responsibility being one. That is too bad you cannot afford to make aliya. I believe when the Mashiach comes all Jews will be here and then you will come here. You will not need a budget or Birthright.

@Hannihar One of the best courses I took in college was "Israel Past and Present." The class was taught by a rabbi who was also a PhD in History and we learned both about the ancient Israel of Biblical times but about the formation of the State of Israel including the Zionist efforts in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

@Hannihar Based on things I hear in the news, it is much safer there than in some of the fancy islands people all want to visit.

It certainly is a place to see but there are those that want to make up things saying it is not safe here. It is safe here and people should come to this special country.

People from my church have visited your area several times. They do a tour every so many years. If I'm ever able to make it, it may be years down the road when we are caught up with paying off most of our debt.
I know of many members and people that work here at major corporations that visit countries where I've heard of unrest, but if work sends you that way you don't have much of a choice.
I don't listen to or watch the news, so I've not heard anything about the warnings for your country, but thanks for the update. Even for countries or cities where it seems nothing happens tha is bad, it's always a good rule to be mindful of things.

I hope you can get here one day. Things happen here but this country is not what people make it out to be. People like to visit here because they is something here for everyone. It is an amazing country to see.

If I have the money, Jerusalem is one of the places I wanted to see; the place where Jesus Christ was born!

Because there are those that do not want people to visit here. I would ignore it. We are a safe country to visit. I am not saying that because I live here. I am saying that because I do not want people to miss out seeing what a beautiful country this is.
