Go to a rock concert? Not me!

Our daughter is super excited! Why? Because one of the gifts she was given (by her husband) this Christmas was tickets to a rock concert. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not some kind of spoilsport who poo-poos rock concerts it's just that, at my age, it's not the kind of thing I'd enjoy. As a youngster many years ago I went to my fair share of rock concerts and I've had a ball of a time at most of them. One which really sticks out in my mine was a Strolling Bones (sorry, Rolling Stones) concert in Glasgow many years ago a couple of weeks before my 18th birthday. Myself, two mates of mine and our girlfriends had a great time at that concert including afterwards when we hung around for a bit to see if we could catch a closer look at our heroes and maybe an autograph as they left the venue (we didn't). Turns out we missed our transport and had to walk home at 2am and on the way we tangled with a couple of hoodlums leaving me with an interesting scar on my forearm (but that's a story for another day!). The last concert I was at was a Rod Stewart concert in Glasgow when I was the ripe of old of 45. Again, two of my buddies (not the same two) accompanied me but this time one of our wives picked us up after the concert - she'd overheard us talking about the 'good old times' and obviously wasn't taking any chances on our ability to stay out of trouble! In case you're wondering the concert our daughter is going to is 'Pink' in Glasgow sometime this summer.

My husband and I are past going to rock concerts too. In fact, I went to very few in my lifetime.

I never liked live rock concerts even when I was young. I surely would not move to go now.

I hope she enjoys the concert, I am sure she will. Pink is great. I have been to my share as well but I am one bit now. My last one was Fleetwood Mac in 2005.

I wouldn't want to go to one either. The last one I went to was Pink Floyd back in the mid 1990s and honestly, as much as I like them, it really wasn't worth the money I spent.
