New Year's Drama

I have a sister who always is full of drama and things have been quiet for much too long. It has been a dream to have had her settled and happy for the past eighteen months. But the axe has fallen. The year 2019 is coming in like a lion with a childish tantrum that has carried on for two days.
Fortunately it is all long distance these days as she moved away from Florida as did I. But the texts are quite dramatic and unsettling. I am sooo happy to no longer be the one around the corner that had to pick up the pieces.
Her daughters have taken up the torch and seem to be not one whit dismayed. It's their youth I suspect, but so glad they are up to the task.
Ahhh family!

Glad you only have to deal with it from a distance now

Oh yes. It's never pleasant during the tantrum. Texts I can ignore.

I'm happy she has wonderful children! They are taking care of things now. Drama has settled down.

My oldest girl is the Drama bringer in our family. Very seldom do we have a break from the drama with her.Right now she is sitting in jail. Her drama and the crowd she ran with (and seriously bad choices) put her where she is. I always say she rides the drama llama in and he makes the rounds.

Oh I love the phrase she rides the drama llama! So sorry your daughter made poor choices and is paying the price. It's heartbreaking for everyone. Having a difficult member of the family is very trying.

@Jeanniemaries The worst part of it is that she has 4 kids and because of this crap they are separated. I have the oldest and youngest and their dad has the other 2 .I am not in good enough shape physically to handle all 4 and I wont let anyone else have the little one. She is my Sugahbugbug..

@jeanena Awww! That is so awesome for you to have them. When my sister got divorced from her kid's dad, years ago, My husband and I took the children for the summer. The court awarded the dad custody and we asked to adopt them but no, he took them home again to Florida (we lived in Ohio) They have often mentioned it was the best summer of their lives.

I might be the one in my family...lol. However, I don't generally expect family members to pick up the pieces.

@Jeanniemaries I heard a saying once, "If you wonder who the crazy relative is in your family..it's probably you."

You are so right. I'm glad I'm not involved in person.

That's true, probably and some have more than one. Helps to know others understand.

Yes, she is toxic for me, is not happy unless we are all involved in her issues. Distance has always been my boundary. When we moved to Florida we knew she would be the thorn in the bed of roses and she was. I'm very glad to have that distance again.

@Jeanniemaries I am sure it's more peaceful now. I am so well with my husband only around.

I have a friend who fights daily with her sister. I don't mind hearing it second hand but when I traveled with them it got old very quickly.

Much easier long distance. She is settling down now to a lot of grumbling and whining.
