@Icydoll You are right.Comments should have words - at least one or two.But I am not sure.

I think so but then I have only recently returned to MYLot after a while away and there seems to be so many changes. :)

@Courage7 Actually it is not violation of guidelines.It is likely to be against the spirit of the site.To clear my doubt I started the discussions.

@Nevena83 Not you alone, it is we - you and I - perhaps violated the spirit of mylot. But no problem,let us correct ourselves.Smilies can be added to a comment to make it more impressive. (I think so)

@Shivram59 Only smiles can't generate a discussion.

I think that you could probably say that it was against the spirit, if not specifically against the Guidelines of myLot, though the Guidelines do forbid "Discussions, responses or comments that offer little or no value - Answers like "I don't know" or "I don't care" help no one and will be removed.":
On the whole, if you spot the kind of behaviour you describe, a quick PM to @GoAskAlice would help to sort it out. He would most likely have a private word with the people concerned and that would be it, unless they ignored him.

@owlwings You are absolutely right.It is likely to be against the spirit of the site.I will very soon PM to GoAskAlice.Actually it was one of mylotters and myself who had been exchanging smilies only for a few days.It occurred to me that what we were doing was wrong. That's why I started this discussion to clear my doubt.
Thanks for guidance.I will soon PM to the admin.
Happy New Year 2019.

@Sreekala I know.Actually I and a user had created a thread.For a few days we kept interacting with both words and smilies.Then she started commenting back with smilies only and I followed suit.Then it suddenly occurred to me that what we were doing was against the spirit of mylot.Look,can you start a discussion with smilies only and no words? Obviously ,no.Then how can you use smilies only to interact?

Smilies are not a discussion though probably its a way for them to communicate

@Moon24 Smilies makes your words more impressive,but words are essential .When you say something,you use words.
