This time of the year is the time where a lot of cereals make their way to the breakfast table. Not the ones in packaged boxes but from the local fields which have been just harvested .
It is different types of rice and it's byproducts. I had posted a discussion about a field of black rice earlier. Today it is on my breakfast table.
Sticky and nutty , topped with milk and honey it makes for a very filling and tasty first meal of the day.
PS...The orange is papaya pieces.I put it that in for the contrast in my pic.

@responsiveme I hope so, but I am not sure if more people are cultivating this.

@sofssu they are. It is called Manipuri rice and was available in that state only , now people are cultivating it locally in Assam also.

Looks like a healthy breakfast there. For breakfast I had peanut butter and strawberry sandwich :)

It's very tasty too. After sometime multinationals will discover it and make it into instant flakes or something and sell it at exorbitant prices

@responsiveme It is available, I am sure it would be more expensive than regular rice here.

@responsiveme For the moment it is expensive. The one sold here comes from Italy, it's called "Venus".

@responsiveme I agree. I try not to eat anything that comes in a package, but it can’t always be helped.

Once the multinationals discover this they'll end up being packaged .It is always a better choice to eat local and organic
