Does God give anyone favours though?
I would say that favours are not given out extra specially flavoured to anyone by God as all that God does for us are favours.
All is God's love living in us, and this makes each one of us God's favoured son, only because this love draws us to God.
Living without God's favour is impossible, but can be done by the one who doesn't accept God as God. All are God's favourites, but it is up to us to believe that.

Why would God have favourites? We are all equally loved in his fold.

You're right, we all have favor who are saved, yet God opens up special favor for his purposes to be done on earth as in heaven.

@RobbieLowdown0 Yes, you are right too. God does choose specially favoured people for his works, like Mary, the mother of Jesus.
The angel Gabriel said these words to Mary:
“Greetings, you who are highly favoured! The Lord is with you” (Luke chapter 1, verse 28)
