Anticipation

Good morning. I'm home. Though I've had the procedure three times, I never realized how fast it really was to have a colonoscopy. The good news is my friend won't need another for 10 years. Lucky person. I can guarantee I'll have another before then. I've had three in two years and I'm hoping never to have another. However, I do have a medical condition, ulcerative colitis that was found with a colonoscopy, and I'm sure they will be monitoring it more often than every ten years. When I left this morning, the weatherman promised me there would be snow. And he promised me it would start by 8 AM and continue until noon. When I hear promises like that, my anticipation zooms upwards. It puts a smile on my face and I watch and wait for that first snowflake to appear. I'm still waiting. I'm ready to call out - Liar, Liar, pants on fire! They have no idea how disappointed I get when I don't get my promised snow. The clouds look like they could snow, any moment, but they're holding off. Maybe for that predicted storm I just read they're getting in Canada tonight and into tomorrow where Laurel said they're now expecting a foot of snow. I know she doesn't want it unless I misread that, so it would be really great if those clouds would drop it here instead of there. Anyway, I'm home now and back to interacting with you unless I start to nod and need my nap. I have Writer's Guild tonight and need to write my 100-word paragraph story yet. I'll do it soon. Have you ever anticipated something only to be disappointed as it never happened? It doesn't need to be the weather, but visitors, events, anything a person can anticipate and it falls through. I'm still hopeful it will snow. Thanks for reading.

Aw. Sorry you have to have them more often. But it's a good thing you do it. It can save a lot of heartache and health trouble. I hope you get your snow

I've anticipated things and have disappointed but never when it comes to snow. I'm on the opposite side of the fence as you where snow is concerned. Hope you get the snow you eagerly await and please keep it there

@just4him as much as I say I hate snow it isn't entirely true. Actually it isn't the snow but icy roads that make me leery

I'm trying to get it to come my way, but it refuses to come near me. It's like everyone in Green Bay is praying for it to go north and south and that's what it's doing. Sigh. Oh well, sooner or later they will be salting the streets for something other than ice, which they're doing today. Maintenance was out salting too, so they must be expecting it to freeze and wet streets makes for a great skating rink on wet pavement, but not safe for driving.

@just4him I hope you're having the same morning we have here. We have about six inches of snow and it's still coming down.

@xander6464 I'm JEALOUS! No, I don't have six inches of snow. Nothing is coming down and nothing will come down. It looks pathetic out there. I need my blizzard. I told the guy at the pool to stop praying for it not to snow. He laughed.

So sorry you need more frequent than normal colonoscopies, but they can be a life saver for you. They do go fast. It's the prep and wait time that takes so long. I hope only you get that snow. Not many others feel the same way about it.

@just4him Trust me when I say the improvement of preparation is a huge improvement from when I had my first years ago, due to polyps. The snow will come!

@DianneN I saw the forecast a couple hours ago. We'll get snow on Thursday. It will last about half an hour.

I know they don't. God is answering their prayers for no snow over mine for snow. Sigh. One of these days I'll get it and I'll be very happy when I do. I know it can be a lifesaver. I just wish there was a better way to prepare for it.

I just hope we don't get Snow, I hate when it does. Coming home from work it was icing, and I hurried to make it home. Hope you get your snow.

I'm sure your friend is pleased about not needing a colonoscopy for another ten years. I think Vince has one every three years.

Valerie, I had a colonoscopy several years back. It didn't take very long but the prep work was horrible. My doctor wants me to have another one soon. That is something I do not look forward to having done. Over the last two days we received plenty of snow. It is so cold where I live. It is doubtful that anyone here likes snow except for me. Maybe it is because people here have to drive or they cannot get out. I have been disappointed, but as long as it is not serious. I get over it.

@just4him Actually, the one I had was many years ago, but you to be on the safe side, it is best to have it done every few years.
