TGIF: Thank God It's Friday to Goodness!?!

Let me share this acronym that I had read in one of the textbooks that is being used by me and my Korean student today. I got curious for a minute. In the book's text says, 'Thank goodness it's Friday.' Thus, the acronym G for God changed to 'goodness.' The course of action is to do a little research about it. Here is what I found out. The acronym TGIF didn't change and it still stands for 'Thank God it's Friday!' I also found out that it can stand for 'Thank God I'm Forgiven." With this matter, we can also do our own by changing the words of this acronym. "Do you feel happy when it's Friday?" "Can you think of words in replacing the acronym of TGIF?" As I think that "God" should not be mentioned in vain, I would say "Too good it's Friday".

I am into that statement of not using God in such statement.

@LadyDuck I had read some members that seems fine. We have a religion subject in high school and it was taught to us not to use his name in certain situations.

@Shavkat When I was young, I remember that our religion forbid to use the name of God in vain. Now everyone mentions him when it's not really needed.

Do you think we are putting God in vain when using this expression? I am also working on weekends, too.

@sofssu You have a point. It is bad if done intentionally as my own perspective.

@Shavkat The commandment is do not take the name of the lord your God in vain.. When we say God that is not his name His name is yeshuah , Yahweh but we do not use those names for our exclamations.

To gossip is folly - nothing to do with Friday but you didn't specify that it had to.

Indeed. Most workers love this day. Some of them don't like Mondays.
