Do you believe in reincarnation?

there is a chinese legend that when a person is about to reborn, they will walk through a bridge called the neither river bridge and drink a soup called Granny Meng's soup which will allow a person to forget about his or her past life before recarnation.

@id_peace Well, I am a Hindu and never heard of this.. but it sounds fascinating.. In Hinduism reincarnation is considered to be true and it is said that you should always do good deeds so that you have a better after life also..

Some said that your dream especially those that you do not know about yourselves, it is likely to be your past or future life.

@id_peace Even I heard that.. I wish that dreams reflect my future life as some of them were really nice.. O don;t want them to be a part of my past :)

I also think it is true.. as there are times when I watch a period film from a different culture and feel drawn towards the characters,.. :)

Have you done any serious research about it and given it serious thought?

@1hopefulman , I don't because it is more like investigating the occult. I stopped doing research on the occult many years ago because I believe it is opening a gateway to the evil spirit world and I do not want evil spirits in my life. I stopped doing research on the occult when I was in my mid 20s. I read about ESP, Out of Body travel, Spontaneous human combustion, Exorcism, and realized it was really bad when having my garage burn down because I had possession of Satan's bible that my friend suggested I buy and read and I read only a few passages and was enraged by it and I threw it against the wall in a part of the garage where I called the junk room and intended to throw that book away, but as time went by it lay there on the floor in the corner, behind a cloth curtain and I forgot about it, but a few days passed and the fire that started was from a fallen candle stick that was left burning while I was not around. The fire consumed the garage and all or most of it's contents, one of which was a piano, and to this day I do not own a piano and I stopped playing piano since that day and never bought one again and the only thing that remained besides my lawn mower, was a plaque of the lord Jesus Christ untouched as everything else was totally burned up. That was in my opinion a message from God for me to turn my life around for Jesus and stop playing games with the occult. My neighbor down the street bought a pack of Tarot cards that we wanted to get rid of that we bought in a garage sale and felt it a bad idea for us to keep this in our home and a few weeks after their house burned completely to the ground. The evil that exists is real and I prefer to stay away from subjects of the occult and reincarnation is not what God is all about so I have to dismiss that subject from my life as well.

Maybe because if you remembered your past, your present relations would be affected.. Would you take care of your current parents, partner, children or take care of people from past life.. what if your past and present relations don't get along.. things may be complicated.. May be God doesn't want us to remember the sad events that took place in the past, so that we can start anew.. And also forget the good times as this life may not be that good and God doesn't want us to regret for what is not possible any more

@lookatdesktop I feel much the same way, Anthony. I don't worry about who or what I might be in the next life! I know when I die I'll be with Jesus like He promised.

@lookatdesktop There were two thieves on crosses near Jesus when He was crucified. One told him to come down and prove he was the Messiah, but the other one told him to be quiet since they were both getting what they deserved, but Jesus had done nothing wrong. Then he asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus came into his kingdom. Jesus answered that today he would be with him (Jesus) in paradise. I know we have to try to serve Jesus and our fellow humans as best we can, but I know you know that's not what gains us entrance into heaven. It's asking God to forgive us for our sins, allowing Jesus to be Lord of our lives, live in us, and make us a child of God through the resurrection of his son, Jesus. I feel like you do, though, that I want to see my loved ones one day in heaven. And I know I will because I've been "born again" and try to be the best child of God I can be, but not that I'm earning my way to heaven. Which, of course, none of us can do. If we could, there wouldn't have been any need for Jesus to die on that cross in our place.

The judgment is going to happen, and that is why I pray every night before going to sleep, for God to please forgive me my trespasses and for me to forgive those who trespass against me. The Lord's Prayer is my favorite prayer and I pray this prayer often. I love God and I know I am a sinner but every day I pray for His forgiveness and look for his return during the second coming.

@Sheali That is true. I have heard about these cases. I just still don't know. I have trust issues is all lol I'd like to dig a little deeper for evidence than just listening to people's stories. It's still interesting though!

Actually there are scientific proofs as well.. Have you heard about past life regression? In India and maybe in other countries there people are hypnotized by psychiatrist so that they can go back in time, as far as past life.. these psychiatrist s obviously are well trained and are very few in number..
