Do you eat everything on your plate?

Some parents force their children to eat everything on their plate before they can leave the table. That is awful in my opinion. I've seen members here say that they will eat rotting bananas because they won't waste food. These aren't healthy ideas.
When I cook dinner, I'll make my plate, eat, and then either put the leftovers for my lunch the next day or throw them out. I would NEVER force myself to eat them. First of all, I couldn't. Secondly, it would make me sick. When I make a BIG meal, I freeze the leftovers for an easy meal for us another time.
Still, the idea of forcing yourself to eat things just so you don't waste food. . . that isn't healthy eating. Throw it out! Set it free!

When I was a kid, my mother would tell us to put only enough food in our plate that we can consume and never left any food in our plate at all. She would tell us that children in some parts of the world could hardly eat and it would be a waste to just throw it in the waste. So we always made sure that we only put enough in our plate so there won't be anything left.

eating everything on the plate is much different from eating a rotting banana. We were always reminded by our parents to take what you can consume especially if we are invited in the party or we are eating in a buffet. First get a piece and try if we like it... then if not at least we don't waste any food.

I used to, but these days I will save it for later if it is a big amount....or throw it if it is not that much.

I have just enough prepared for a meal so almost no waste and meals like lasagna are done with the thought of having leftovers in the freezer. Like you do. Overripe bananas are perfect for banana nut bread.

I do not waste food. Period. I can always find something to make out of anything, including leftovers that need something to be done with them. I have made casseroles out of casseroles for heaven's sake. BUT, as for my plate, if I can't eat everything I have put on it, yes. I will take it to lunch or incorporate what's left into something else. But I will never simply throw it away. Never.

Yes, I will finish all the food on my plate. I am not a picky eater. As long as the food is clean, then it is fine to me.
If my appetite is not well at that day, I will not take much food. It is not good to take it and left unfinish at the end. They are a lot of people live in hungry, I do not want to be in that situation in anytime so appreciate of what we have now.
