glass, the mastermind

We tootled off to the cinema last night to see our first film of 2019. We did shockingly last year, averaging at just one every twelve days or so. This year we hope to do better.
So, we saw Glass and it was a true marvel {if you see the film, you'll *get* that}. I do love a bit of M. Night Shyamalan. Only as a director though ... his acting skills leave a lot to be desired. I think it's mostly because of the twists. There's always a twist, sometimes subtle, sometimes overpoweringly obvious.
In preparation we had to watch Unbreakable again, to remind ourselves. Glass will be an impossible film to see if you haven't already enjoyed Unbreakable and Split.
The film takes the culture of the comic book, and immerses itself in the mythical fact of the Hero, the Villain and the Mastermind. Is the Hero always the Hero? Is the Villain always the villain. Is the Mastermind always the obvious one?
Are the Heroes really the Villains?
It was a little bit sad, quite emotional, had a stonkingly stellar cast and kept me gripped in needing to know the final outcome. And what is it with Bruce Willis? When did he get so ridiculously attractive?!
I think the cheerleaders have just dawned on me too. I should watch it again to find all the Easter Eggs. Or, I can just Google it right now.
I may be dragging Husband along to see Mary, Queen of Scots tomorrow. I hear there's a menstrual blood related scene which will make men squirm. *evil laugh*

I never saw the first movie, but did see bits and pieces of the second thanks to the boyfriend making me watch with him and I hated it. So I wont be seeing this movie. Or the Mary one either.. but I hope you enjoy the Mary one, if you do go tomorrow.

I do not go to the theater very often at all. There were a lot of movies to come out last year that I wanted to watch. I will just have to catch them on our big 4K television via amazon.
Mary, Queen of Scots is one that I really want to go see.

We have a big 4k tellybox too, with all the hoo-ha and surround sound and whatnot, but I don't enjoy watching films at home. Still, at least it's not like the old days when it would take 4 or 5 years before a film was shown on telly!

@poppylicious those womanly scenes are when many us men realise that we don't have enough popcorn and have to leave for a few moments. We can usually tell when they are about to happen.

Yes, or you need a wee. Or your phone is vibrating in your pocket.

I was never much of a Bruce fan, but he has aged spectacularly!
