The flyer in the morning paper decided our program for the day. A local band were setting up a live tribute to Freddie Mercury ,a mixture of songs and documentary.
The setting was the bandstand near the sea and a natural amphitheatre of an old fort with greenery aplenty.
The band had 4 vocalists who did solos in their individual styles.A person they called Boss Lady was amazing on piano and keyboards. The guitarists also jammed along.
It was a part of a winter festival. The place was packed with people both young and old. All dancing and singing along with the music.
The compere did a good job of holding the show together with snippets of information which included Freddie's love for his cats.
Entry was free . At the end there were youngsters holding up donation boxes for contribution to shelters for strays.
I enjoyed myself very much.

@responsiveme I know very little about the Queen and Freddy Mercury. I know that his recording studios were in Switzerland and that there is a statue of him on the Lake Geneva.

They aren't really, they are a talented band. And people do play covers.

That sounds like fun, I bet @Arthurchappell would have loved that too.
It's rare these things are done for free, but it's good all the people that attended.

It may have been sponsored by some company, part of a winter festival.in that area. We rang up the number and asked about tickets but were told it was free.
They were a talented band and the next concert will be a paid ticket one

It is a good project with the proceeds for shelter for stray animals. Such a nice tribute to Freddie Mercury, a great singer.
