I just finished reading this book today. It was a Christmas present, but didn't get around to reading it until a few days ago. Very, very interesting autobiography of a brutal life. For me, it was one of those can't-put-it-down books. I read most of it yesterday and would have finished it last night except my husband came to bed and doesn't like for me to have the light on when he's trying to go to sleep. I finished it this morning. It is a story of family relationships gone awry. None of us have perfect families, but sometimes they really get screwed up. Has anyone else read this book?

I read that book. It made me sad to think of the brutal life those kids had. And not so long ago.

That's a new one on me. I wonder if its as sad as the one I just finished on a lady who was dealing with early onset dementia?

@pjmurphy For sure. The book really made me crawl into the person's soul as she was trying to figure out the world.

Early onset dementia is a devastating illness and very, very sad.

@pjmurphy I've read some really dysfunctional family books. I just finished a crime one called, Whatever Mother Says, and it had me shaking my head.

It's a great book, but a little disturbing.
