My daughter has myopia

My daughter is 6 years old and last week while we were driving home we were playing a game with our kids, (saying words that begin with the letters that were in the licence plate of the other cars). We all could see the letters but my daughter didn't
I have myopia since I was a child and my son already wears glasses due to the disease as well.
Today's morning I went with her to the ophthalmologist and as we suspected she has myopia, 2 diopters of myopia in each eye to be more precise. My poor little girl, we didn't noticed and the doctor told me that it probably have developed since she began the primary school in september as she needs to look at and focus the board.
Now we need to find nice glasses for her and she is happy because she will see better now.
Do you wear glasses?

We had a check up for our daughter this week, and I am waiting on an appointment for an optometrist to be approved. She is probably going to need glasses as well But I'm glad we found out before she starts school. I myself don't have glasses but my husband wears contacts and has bad vision problems on his side

@nela13 I am not sure, she had trouble in her left eye when they did the sight exam at her doctor. So hilarious though, they had her looking at shapes instead of letters, when they got to this apple shape, my daughter replied "its a butt"

@spicysweetie21 That was funny for sure. So she is very young because they didn't show her letters.

Myopia runs in our family. Sofía, my youngest granddaughter, was discovered to have miopía too by chance. Claudia had taken Vicente (Sofía´s brother) to be measured again for glasses and Sofía, then maybe 5, wanted to be measured too. The doctor complied, just as a game, and they discovered that Sofía needed glasses immediately.

I've worn glasses since third grade. I remember when our daughter first wore glasses- she was maybe 5 or so- she looked up at the sky and said MOON! Made me feel terrible that I hadn't known how bad her eyesight was. Now, thanks to glasses, she drives and gets around fine.

I had to start wearing glasses when I was younger. I still wear them. A doctor had said it was because I sat too close to the tv.

@nela13 I had tried to wear contacts, but I can't put them in myself.

It's good that she now will be able to see much better. =) I am supposed to but don't because they give me migraines.

My husband had to wear glasses when he was already an adult too.
